Anyone else have a planned csection?? Can you tell me how it went?

  • I had a planned one because my placenta was low. I went in at 7am and got into a gown, at ten I walked to the Op theater and I had a spinal which really hurt even though they numbed it but it worked well and they tested me to see if I was really numb by pinching me and spraying cold water then they put a screen up and all I felt was a weird tugging and he was out by 10.36 then they stitched me and I was in a bed by twelve. I was very sore for a week or two but it got easier and eight weeks later I was healed. Hope this helped :)
  • Are you breast feeding?
  • I had a planned c section. Got in at 7am, but it got pushed back because someone was in labor. They wheeled me into the room and gave me a spinal. I had to lean foreward while they did it and it was quite unpleasant. I laid down and they went to get my mom. When she came in they already had the screen up and were cutting away. I heard the dr say, and here's baby, and then she cried! It was the most beautiful noise ever. They were suPposed to show her to me then but didn't some reason. They took her to get cleaned up and what not and my mom took pictures to show me. They brought her to me to say hello and then took her to the nursery.

While I was being stitched up I started having bad chest pains. They kept. getting worse until they figured out my bp was only 48/29 (don't know how I was still awake, but I thought I was dying!) They gave me a shot to raise bp and I felt better almost instantly. After about 20 min I was done and taken back to my room. I immediatly asked for my baby and put her to my breast.. Her favorite place to be still 3 months later :)
  • I'm so nervous about having a c section!! I just don't want the recovery to take long or ne in a lot of pain..
  • I was nervous too. I did NOT want to go that route, but health of baby comes first. It takes a lot to recover, but I did it with just motrin :) I'm a recovering addict so anything stronger wasn't an option for me.
