How do contractions feel when they start? UPDATE AT BOTTOM!

I feel dumb for asking this question. I remember how it feels to be in full blown labor but I dont remember how it felt when the contractions started. Im at work and out of nowhere I had cramps in my lower abdomen. Then they slowly went around to my back. A few min. ago my back and my entire uterus was killing me. Im trying to keep a straight face so I dont alarm anyone but now Im holding my back. As I type this Im feeling the cramps again with dull (lower) back pain :( Im shaking my leg to distract me from it. Before work I got diarrhea out of nowhere. Idk what thats about. Im 33w on Sat. Im trying to time them now to see if it is contractions.

    Sounds a little like your description call your dr. Mine started as cramps. I was just in the hospital for preterm labor, we have same due date. Hope they go away. Good luck. Keep me updated.

    Kinda like you're describing. Eventually they hurt so bad you can't even talk.

    Ok so they let up since I posted this. I still have the cramps but theyre dull now. It hurts to walk so Im just sitting and seeing what happens. I will update if anything else happens.

    Mine felt like really bad period cramps..like think of ur worst menstrual pain ×100..and wen i was about 4 centimeters i had these horrible cramps in my butt.. definitely the most painful thing ive ever felt.. at firs i didn't know they were contractions, i kept telling hubby that my but hurt and tgen it just got stronger and stronger!!!.. srry lol i got carried away

    So Ive been having contractions since this post. Ive been having them nonstop EVERYDAY. I went to L&D at my job but all they did was monitor me and the baby. They sent me home afterwards without an explanation. Then DF came over yestetday and made me feel guilty about sex...smdh (sorry tmi) so that just made everything feel 10 times worse afterwards! So all night last night and today more nonstop contractions. So I went to a different L&D. (The one my dr is affiliated with) they hooked me up to an IV (they only had to stick me 3 times!) The fluids did nothing for me, I was still having them. So they had to give me a shot to calm them down. They will return but this will stop them for a few hours. I wasnt having real contractions but they were consistent and no one knew why. The dr said he would like for her to stay in for atleast another 4 weeks. I have to take it easy from now on which is hard to do working fulltime. So I have to call my dr tomorrow and see what she says :( Thanks to anyone who replied :)

    Sounds similar to me. Lol. Did they give you the steroids? I went in Tuesday for contractions. My dr put me on complete bed rest. Did they check you? We have the same dd. They gave me 2 1/2 bags of fluid, and antibiotics. They gave me the shot to stop labor cuz i made progress in 45 min. They slowed the contractions but didn't stop them. My dr said i only need 2 weeks. I still have contractions all the time. We just hoping she stays put for a couple more weeks. Keep me posted on your condition and i will keep you posted.     @angel26 well according to them I wasnt in actual labor. But at the same time they didnt know why I was having contractions in the first place. So all they keep telling me to do is rest. I wasnt dialating tho. Three weeks ago when I was in L&D the resident said I was 4cm long and closed. Yesterday she said I was 3cm long and half an inch dialated. So all that means is that my cervix isnt thinned out just yet but there is a little dialation. Todays dr said I didnt change since yesterday. They gave me 1 1/2 bags if fluid but it didnt stop the contractions. Then they gave me a shot to calm them down. It started with a T and made my heart go crazy. It felt like it wanted to jump out of my chest. Hopefully your little girl stays in atleast 4 more weeks so she will be full term. These kids are causing trouble already. They better be sweethearts when they come out...lol I will keep you posted!
