3 straight hours

Of nursing. :/ what the heck is going on. I literally can't take it anymore. I had to make him a bottle and let dad feed him. :( I feel so bad but between the thrush and 3 hours of sitting here nursing and him latching off and crying Idk what else to do.

    How often do I give that to him? I hate formula I wish it was never invented its to easy to cave and give it to him. Lol. And Idk why he was taking so long to eat. Is that the thrush? @ashleyfew

    My son just had thrush anf he nursed like that too..dr. Says cause the thrush is uncomfertable and him being at the breast is so comferting to him...the thrush was gone in 2 days and i used gentian violet also.idk if u have it on ur nipples but mine was healing after one use!

    I just have antibiotics right now I'm getting that stuff though. Gonna call the pharmacy. I need help lol. I didn't know it Was painful for him we've had it a week and he didn't act like he was in pain but last 3 days he won't stop nursing but 3 hours is the longest he has done it. I'm sure part of it is the comfort. Thank you @2ndbaby11611. And @ta2edblondie @ vtmamajuju I'm glad I'm not the only one to have gone through this.

    From my experience, any feeding lasting more than 15 mins on each side is just pacifing. It could be a growth spurt too. You don't want to become a pacifier, so try to use your pinky finger or a pacifier. Thrush is pretty painful and can make feedings very confusing for you. I've always gotten an Rx for Nystatin from the pediatrician for it and it took a couple days before it got better. Just hang in there and try other soothing methods to calm the baby down. good luck!

    @dreamaria he won't take a pacifier right now Idk why. And after the 3 hours and I gave him a bottle of formula he drank almost 4oz and then wanted to nurse again. I ended up just rocking him to sleep and it worked. We have a prescription for thrush its been a week and we both still have it. :/
