I laid him on the infant bather washed his body then his hair the first bath is the worse cuz your nervous and the baby cries but its not like that every time
We turn on a steaming hot shower and close bathroom door for 5min to warm the bathroom. Next step get everything you need ready. Soap ,lotion, rag , towel, new diaper, outfit. Then run bath water luke warm. Put baby in and start at the head and work your way down. Keeping a warm wet wash cloth on the rest of babies body. When done quickly dry baby put diaper on then lotion.then dress baby!!!
I get everything I need ready, then either get the bathroom nice and steamy to warm it up or get the space heater in the same area to keep baby warm. I wash his body first then his hair so his head doesn't get cold while I wash the rest of his body. I also wash his hair with a very soft bristled tooth brush (that hasn't been used, obviously ) that way I can scrub a little in order to avoid cradle cap. My son loves the bath! No worries, he just sits back and relaxes in the warmth of the water. Good luck!
Wow that is weird waiting for the cord to fall off to bath.. first I've heard of that.. i bathed both my kids the same as @samiUK.. strip down to nappy, wrap in towel, wash face and head, dry her take off nappy then sit in bath and wash body, dry,lotion,dress..i find it kinda gross to wash the face/head after washing the body/bottom..
