poop question! help!

edited November 2011 in Breastfeeding
Just started the other day my daughter is one month and breastfed- her poops have been smelly and pale/neon yellowish which as far as I could tell on google is a formula babys poo? Idk someone going through this to? Is it something I ate? My milk is still coming in, so I don't think its going bad or dry. Please someone tell me its just a faze and normal bc bfed babies usually change in poops its just hers was a seedy mustard color forever.

  • yellow color is normal for breastfeed babies formula fed babies are dark green..
  • Yellow to green is normal it changes by what you eat. and my baby's poop smelled for the first while not exactly sure when it stopped but she's 8 weeks and hasn't smelled in weeks
  • I'm also bfing an my sons poo changes from seedy green to yellow all the time! I thunk it's just what you eat!
  • You should be fine. :) yellow means baby is breast fed. It's a green color if formula fed. Yellow seedy poop is the best because it means baby got the maximum amount of nutrition. The yellow can very in texture and smell but should go back to yellow and seedy within a week. If your baby seems happy and still is gaining weight they're okay. :)
  • Thanks guys! She's still pooping peeing and gaining weight so I wasn't too concerned.
  • My baby's poop has been yellow since we came home and hes formula fed
