ttc after loss

I'm stuck. I want to have another baby, but after losing my daughter 23days ago at 8.5months pregnant I'm scared to get pregnant again. I don't want to go through another loss. Any advice to help me get over this fear?

  • After I lost my son i tried immediately to get pregnant. But it took two years and fertility treatments to get pregnant again. I now have a 10 week old son. Im actually happy it took me so long. I was able to heal physically and emotionally and i was able to accept my loss and try to enjoy my pregnancy even though i was so terrified throughout the whole pregnancy.. Its not easy but i just took it day by day.
  • Yeah, I don't think ill be able to try for another year or so..I'm terrified. I had a perfect pregnancy, and then BOOM out of no where she died. It was so unexpected(even though I had a bad feeling from the start that something would go wrong). I never thought it would actually happen. Man..I think time will be the best thing. Does it get any easier(not worrying through your pregnancy, I mean)
  • For me it wasnt easy and i think with future pregnancys i will be just as terrified. I was able to find a support group in my area with other moms who are expecting after a loss and it helped alot.
  • I couldn't imagine having a loss that far along.. I have had 3 mc under 12 weeks.. Its been heartbreaking. I think after a loss like that you are always gonna be worried about being preggo! They finally found out I have a blood clotting disorder and will need medicine while preggo. I am currently ttc but I'm scared and hopeful at the same time! I just know I'm suppose to be a mommy. Heartbreaks heal through time I think.. I would wait till you are emotionally better. Good luck!

Thank you. I'm just confused right now. I want to wait until I'm done with my degree. And I hope they will monitor me closely next time. I will definitely be getting an at home fetal doppler. So I can make sure her heart is still beating and such.
  • I would wait awhile as well. let yourself heal emotionally and physically..Do they know what could have caused problems?
  • @momofanangel they will definately watch u closely you will be considered high risk. They had me go in every other week for ultrasounds starting at 6 weeks. I loved getting my ultrasounds it gave me peace of mind.

  • @kayleigh27 no, they had no c.o.d. :/

And I'm glad, @mckenzie23. That would definitely make me feel better.
