Have to share (sad loss)

edited January 2012 in Current Events
So my city has it's first death just hours into the New Year. It was tragic, a 16 year old mom her 1 year old daughter and 18 year old boyfriend were I'm assuming going home it was 2 in the morning. Well the boyfriend was speeding hit a curb the 16 year old flew out the car (she was not wearing a seatbelt) and later died at the hospital. Her daughter was also in icu but made it through and the dad suffered minor injuries. Smh my heart hurts for the daughter growing up without a mother. But what was this CHILD thinking getting in a car with him if he was drunk? And why was she not wearing a seatbelt? So many choices she could have made to prevent this :( My prayers to her daughter. And in this city it's the law that everybody has to wear a seatbelt. Just thought I'd share. This was heartbreaking :(

  • @bexiewexie it's honestly children having children. Smh, hopefully the daughter grows up with a good family and I hope the dad gets some kind of jail time.

Let's not make this about a teen parenting thing. There are hundreds of incidences like this and they're not all teenagers. But I agree, it was completely irresponsible to not only endanger her life but her daughters too. Praying for that sweet baby.
  • @BentleysMommy716 your the only one making it that way. You get so defensive once someone even metions 'teen' parenting. We ALL know your a good mother to Bentley. But yes in this case it IS actually children having children. This is my LITTLE sister's friend and my sister IS a child.
  • And even at that it's saturatory rape she WAS 15 when she got pregnant so yes she was a child.
  • I didn't get defensive . You clearly said "honestly it's children having children ." And that's just stereo typing. Not cool.
  • Woah, calm down. It seems like you're the one getting defensive .

  • @BentleysMommy716 that's EXACTLY what it is. It's an OPEN forum and I'm free to state my opinions. Agree or disagree with what I THINK. That's okay. I'm open to read EVERYBODY'S opinions.
  • @ashleyfew but if she is in fact not a "child" why get so defensive? But anyways the daughter is already home. My sister said she's all bruised up. :( ugh my heart hurts. They showed the suv and it's totaled.
  • Okay, calm down. I never said you couldn't. You're overreacting. Anyway, I'm sorry that your sister lost her friend and I hope the baby can be raised in a safe environment now and doesn't have to experience anything like this again.
  • @BentleysMommy716 oh I'm calm. It's just every time I read something about teen parenting/pregnancy there you are getting offensive when it is NOT directed at you. It's aggravating because I know you from fb and read how you treat Bentley but you ALWAYS get offensive. You shouldn't always do that. Like I read on fb YOU said your mature for your age right? Then don't take offense to the 'bad' teen parenting. My sister was 16 & pregnant and she's like a great mom so mature now but she's older then me. And that's how you are I'm pretty sure you wouldn't have put Bentley in this situation?
  • No. And again I wasn't getting defensive or offensive. I didn't want this to turn into a post, stereo-typing teen parenting just because of one girls mistake, that's all.
  • Idk it could have well been an 27 yr old drunk couple making a stupid decision to speed or not wear a seatbelt. I wouldnt judge a person on their age but their maturity level. Who's to say the mom undid her seatbelt to give the baby a bottle or something? I just think it could have happened to anyone at any age.

@BentleysMommy716 just rest assure you are dumb enough to put yourself in that kind of situation and others do it without thinking, of any age.
  • @afwifealderete1017 yeah, I put my seatbelt on to go to end of my street. A wreck can happen any place, any time. Scary.
  • @afwifealderete1017 yes it COULD of been but it wasn't. This happens ALOT in my city just a couple months ago an 18 & 19 year old couple and their 1 year old daughter crashed into a man because they were drunk driving and killed him. This is a big issue under age drinking and driving here. That is why I said what I said.
  • It just seems like you're blaming their age. When really its their immaturity. Not all teens are that stupid. Where im from its the 23/25 age group that are drunk driving. Im sure thosr teens were just not raised right themselves to realize what their doing. I know 15 yr old moms that can put alot of older moms to shame.

  • Yeah and obviously you didn't read everything I told Kelsie go back and read EVERYTHING. I told her not to take ofense to the 'bad' teen parenting because that is NOT her. And yes when I'm talking about the couple up there it is about their age. If you read ALL my comments it's directed at this ONE couple I wrote about. Bot directed at anybody else was it? @afwifealderete1017
  • Geez you get worked up lol
  • I am sorry for your loss, was he drinking, that was never said in your post, did I miss something?
  • 8-| always drama
  • @jodi102011 yes he was although they are saying it was under the legal limit. As was the mother. It just saddens me that this whole situation could have been prevented :(
  • @ashleyfew i totally agree
  • @TxMommy93011, I understand completely. I am sorry for your loss
  • I get what you're saying completely, don't worry! :)
  • And that is very very sad though :(
  • @ExcitedForOctober lol thank you! How was work today?
