Hair growth (body not head)

edited March 2011 in Pregnant
I am not a naturally hairy woman at all, like I only have to shave my legs once a month and its just stubble. Well for approx a wk or 2 I have veen noticing little hairs (peach fuzz) on my breasts and stomach. I have never experienced this before in my pregnancies. I guess I am wondering is this common, are there any links to the babies gender, and how do u get past feeling embarrassed about it?

  • Everyone has tiny little hairs all over their body, some have darker and thicker than others but its normal and natural and should go back to normal after baby is born. Don't be embarrassed you are probably the only one who has noticed. I'm not sure about the gender link but I think its just hormones ;) hope u get to feeling better
  • Don't be embarrassed about it hun i got same thing but didn't have it in my first so it kinda weird for me too, just thing it will go away when your baby is born! I tried not to think about it but i didn't hide away from it, if it really gets to you talk to your midwife hun x
  • I started to get a hairy tummy at about 15weeks! Still have now! Im not embarrassed at all.. Midwife told me it means baby will have a lot of hair on its head and will all come off when she's born!
  • Thanks ladies i know I must seem very vain, sorry. Just something new and different I guess. It doesnt make me feel very sexy, as I am a single mother and no one outside of close family and friends know.
  • If you don't want to tell anyone about it hun i wouldn't worry, i don't feel sexy either but i don't let it get to me its a part of life i suppose! X
  • I've been having the same problem, but I'm the kind of person who has to shave my legs every 3rd day, if not sooner. I had a problem with facial hair before, but it wasn't super noticable. Now, it's thick and dark. It's also showing up on my belly and in between my breast. I'm glad you asked this, because I would have been way too embarassed. So, this is all normal during pregnancy?
  • Don't shave or wax it! It will make it worse even post baby. After you have baby it will go back to before unless you mess with it. I made the mistake. Blah.
  • Awww, well thanks ladies
  • Omg lucky duckies! I have to shave everyday. Such a drag.
