To start this off I cant test till Thursday (pay day) so I just want some opinions.... I wasn't worried about my late period till my partner started freaking out. Im exclusively bf and had a light period on the 9th of December (my daughter was born October 24th) and 3 days of super light spotting staring December 26th... So I would normally have a 31 day cycle meaning I was due Jan 7th but I got the mirena fitted that day and spotted for 24 hours... My partner and I have been using condoms with none breaking etc... Should I be worried or just put the lack of period down to the iud and bf... We cannot have any more kids as we have 4 between us already and struggle financially and the stress of having 4 kids under 5 is already putting a major stress on our relationship. We simply couldn't provide for another child....

    On mirena they say your period may lighten ork even go away completly. I havent had one since mine was inserted.. Good luck..

    @ynvtish ... I know it sucks because I have to wait to test
    @jessibear its only been in for a week and a half so I didn't think it would work that fast, normally I have long heavy periods

    @Rileyandme I know I could never handle adoption... I have 2 healthy beautiful kids that I have carried and given birth to, the thought of giving one away is something I couldn't cope with. My only other option would be abortion and I really dont know if I could deal with that...

    @Rileyandme I hope not. My partner would have gotten a vasectomy already but he is only 28 and he cant get it till after he is 30.

    They didn't give you a test before you got it put in? One of my coworkers got one and they made her take a test first..she isn't bf tho.

    Nope didn't take one before. I didn't even think it was a possibility because we were using condoms so I didn't even ask about it

    I say you are safe since none of the condoms broke...but you can always take one to put your mind at ease.

    We just went through this. I am having to wait until February to have my essure tubal done. I had my baby October 25th, had first period in early December and never had one in Jan. I freaked and went ahead and bought a test. I am on the mini-pill and we use condoms...thank the good Lord the test came back negative. Our family is so perfect with us and our 4 children. It is scary not having a period to be able to gauge everything from it. I wish you the best luck and will be praying that you get a negative too!

    Im gonna guess u r safe. Did the office collect urine from u b4 u got mirena put in? If they did they could have tested u w out u knowing.

    @mommyof3girls no they did an std and infection test a few weeks before putting it in and tested with swabs.

    Gosh, that seems crazy that they didnt do a preg test first. Well, good luck to u. I hope everything turns out the way u want it to. :)
