There has been a confirmed case of rsv in my sons class at daycare. What is the chance he contracted it and if he did what signs do I need to watch for? Just asking cause or doctor automatically hospitalizes all children under 1 if they have it and I wanna be prepared. Thanks...

    It's essentially like a really really bad cold. The severity of it differs, some kids just get a regular cold while others might have severe respiratory issues and may be hospitalized because they're not getting enough oxygen.

    My daughter got RSV at 2 months and wound up getting Bronchiolitis from it. She was in and out of the hospital for 2 weeks because she couldn't breath. She had to have nasopharyngeal suctionings because the mucus was so bad she couldn't breath and would choke.

    My son is 2 1/2 months and he has bronchioitis. Its a bad cold and cough and you can't give them medicine it has to run it's course :( he's had it for like 2.5 weeks but he only coughs sometimes now and some mucus will come up after the babas. Vaporizers with the solution helped and I haven't tried this but my friend said it's great. Try tgr soothing bath vapors too? She said clears the nose right out!
