Stretchmark cream

edited January 2012 in Pregnant
I'm in no way ashamed of my stretchmarks, but I'm just wondering if there are any creams or anything out there that actually work? Even if i can just get rid of or dial down a few would be perfect. I know my hubby misses my old tummy and I'd like to impress him a abit when I get to see him in march if i can.

  • Ive had 2 kids and pregnant again, I have always used palmers stretchmark cream with every pregnancy, right after the shower when your skin is moist..it has been amazing for me..Ive heard it helps to fade as well
  • Awesome. I'll have to try it out. :-) Thanks @armywife5
  • I have used palmers stretch mark cream for all three pregnancy and my last pregnancy it didn't help I'm also looking for something
  • There is also a cream from avon for stretch marks and I used it in high school after gaining alot of weight quick do to health issues. You can't even tell I had them now I am getting more for the two I have on my belly from my second daughter they are real dark and deep but that's how they were on my legs too. Hopefully you find something that works for you.
  • 100% shea butter.
  • They say nothing will prevent stretch marks, it's all in your genes. I have some. I use cocoa butter, doesn't prevent it but it says it's suppose to fade them.
  • Time is the only thing that will truly fade them. I've tried so many different products and nothing works. But I'm 6 months pp and they are way lighter than when she was born. I wish the texture would get better now lol
  • Idk what its exactly called but this mama mia stuff I heard is suppose to help fade them and also tighten ur tummy I know a girl who used it and it really worked..its a little pricey but imma try it
  • I used bio oil. Didnt really help
  • Mederma. It's expensive but worth it.
  • ia agree with @monkey_girl I've been using it but I always forget to put it in but I'm sure if u use it like ur suppose to my stomach would be way better but I've definitely noticed a difference from what I've used
  • @newmomma13 I use it and my stretch marks are almost gone, it is pricey ($70 a bottle) but worth it! ...its Mama Mio Goodbye Stretch Marks
  • Yes the Avon cream works really good
  • @everyone Thanks for the advice :-) . Going to try the maderma for four to six weeks first to see if there's any change. Its one my docs office recommends, so that's why I'm going to try it first. :-)
  • Does anyone know if Mederma is safe for breast feeding mommas?
  • @ExitedForOctobershoot imma buy that ish tomorrow when I get paid lol...how bad were your stretch marks
  • @newmomma13 they were dark on my lower belly! Purplish...now they are very light, almost unnoticeable :)
  • @newmomma13 make sure u put it on 3x a day like the instructions say :)
  • Look at my strechmarks r gone post. Ill post pictures tonigjt
  • @ExcitedForOctober wow alright I'm doin everything possible to get rid of these suckers cause its just horrible!!! I'm not use to this lol... I have a bunch if light ones on my tummy then some dark ones on my sides and hips and on the crease where my butt and leg meets...then I have some on the back of my knees and on my calves those are light but some what dark too...I hate them!!!! Lol
  • So far maderma is awesome! Its supposed to take up to four weeks for a noticible difference in fading them, so i will find out about that in three weeks. What it has done in only a week is flattened my raised stretchmark. Not completely flat, but its awesome feeling the difference so far. It is about $40 a bottle here, but so far worth it.

@Rosiepie you had the tummy tuck before or after pregnancy...was the recovery painful?
  • @newmomma13 I had it after my first pregnancy.... I did not want anymore kids.... I had it done in 2009... 4 yrs after my son... It wasn't too bad... I remember after surgery all I felt was burning til they hook up my Demerol ,lol.... My husband took 3 dys off to help me but I was good after 2... And then I decided I wanted another baby a yr later lol.... I only gained 23lbs compared to my 60 with my first and surprisingly my tummy tuck is still intact... It was a bit painful though, felt like my stitches on my muscles were ripping
