Don't freak out girl lol... I got my epi at 4cm... Isaac in labor for 7hours and this was my first...i pushed her out on the 3rd set of pushes took me less then 10mins to get her out
I went to the doc last week and I'm still not dilated.:/ I'm scared I won't be able to push on my own. My mom doesn't think I should get it(epi), idk if she's trying to scare me out of it or if everything she's says is true.
So u didnt have ur Baby yet? Though u might of had her on feb 29
Having a Baby is pretty scary no matter how u have It. Them needles r huge but the numb u. U can still feel a jab but It doesnt hurt all that bad. U will do just fine. Good luck
I was sooo scared of getting an epi but seriously once my contractions got bad I didnt care what they had to do to stop the pain and after I felt silly for being so scared bc I barely felt it and I felt soo much better after. I didnt dilate til tbe week I was due and when I went into labor I was only 1cm I got the epi @ 4cm and I dilated just fine good luck it will be ok
I absolutely loved my epi! I was worried going into the hospital about it but once my contractions started getting bad I didn't give a crap! They put a small needle in first to numb you, it feels kind of like a bee sting but only for a second. Then your back guess numb. You don't feel that big needle whatsoever! It completely kicked in within 30 minutes and was the most amazing thing ever! The cervical checks were unbearable before the epi and after I didn't feel a darn thing! I could still move my legs for the most part, I just couldn't feel them. Honestly if you want it don't listen to anyone else, do what makes you feel comfortable! Labor is sucky enough, why feel the pain when you don't have to :P
I was scared to death about my epi!!!! Girl it was nothing. I take that back - it was a miracle worker! I will have it again with this one. :-) I had my daughter almost 7 months ago and with it being so soon, i will gladly accept it again. I see it as - if I don't have to be in pain, why choose to be? You'll do great!!'
I was scared about the epi before I was even pregnant but for some reason when time got closer I didn't worry about it anymore and I wasn't going to get one and I didn't really need it but decided that I wanted to just relax and enjoy the labor process so I got mine at 5cm and I didn't feel anything and loved it ... You will be fine and surprised at how much you are capable of. Good luck!
Thanks ladies. I'm definitely getting the epi, I just couldn't imagine pushing a baby out without it. I guess its normal being nervous before giving birth. I'm just praying my babygirl comes out okay.
