He insists he felt the baby move.

I am 13 weeks, 2 days. My fiance apparently rubs my abdomen and listens to the baby while I sleep (he's kind of adorable). He insists that he has felt the baby move 3 times now, but I don't even know if I have felt the first flutters yet. He also says he can hear the heartbeat sometimes when he listens.

He gets so mad when I tell him it's probably just gas. And he is shocked that I can't feel it yet. What do you guys think it is?

    I would guess he's feeling your pulse or gas, and hearing your heart beat. You'll feel little flutters before he can feel kicks, plus, 13 weeks is very early.

    I would agree, @bummy87, except that he looks at me like I'm from Pluto when I tell him I can't feel the baby yet, but I think I might feel flutters. I swear he thinks I'm an idiot because I don't feel it yet. I'm sure my hormones are exaggerating reality, so I usually just drop it and let him continue being adorable and ridiculous.

    @Jwigs I felt tiny (almost un-noticable) flutters maybe once or twice around the 11-12 wk mark but was uncertain it was baby....at 13wks i swore i felt it and he put his hand there and said he felt it too. It's possible...i get nervous saying i feel it b/c ppl just look at me like im crazy...b/c i shouldn't feel it this early or something...idk...i think he felt it...he thinks he felt it...

    just let them think they felt it!!!!

    You will feel the baby before he does believe me. The dad usually doesn't feel the baby for at least a couple weeks after the mom does. You can't feel flutters from the outside that early. This is my third & at 13 weeks the baby is still extremely small so unless there's more then 1 in there he's hearing your heartbeat/pulse & gas bubbles.

    ... what do you mean more than one? You can hear/feel multiples earlier?

    @Jwigs I can't help it, thats as adorable as all get out!! I'm sure its too soon, but I'd just let him think hes right on this one. Thats ridiculously sweet!! Sometimes our men can do the cutest things :)
