Ovarian Cancer

edited March 2012 in Health
Does anyone know about or have Ovarian Cancer? For the past 3 months I have had 3 ultrasounds of my ovaries & I have a cyst on my right ovary that is complicated. I researched ovarian cancer and I have every symptom. I have a sudden loss of appetite, tired all the time, no energy, pain in the right side of my pelvic area, nausea & bad low back pain. I am so worried. My next ultrasound is April 3rd but I wonder how many ultrasounds are they gonna do before they decide to do a biopsy of the cyst. Any help or answers are greatly appreciated.

  • Sorry I have no experience with this. Bump again
  • I've got cysts too... One on my right ovary is pretty big... I'm not sure what "complicated" means. But I wish you the best. In my case, they left it alone... It's smaller now but still there.
  • @second_time_mommy7 thank you. @RedShadoe0 Well my cyst is a blood filled cysts. They have to keep monitoring & hoping it doesn't rupture or just magically go away. I just want a biopsy to put my mind at rest. All the women on my mom's side all have "woman" problems, from dnc's to hystarectemies(sp?). But thank you posting.

  • If it's fluid filled, they won't biopsy. It good (as good as it can be) if it's fluid. They don't want to see cysts that are tissue. I had 3 huge cysts and they went away on their own. They did sonos every 3 weeks or so until they went away. Also, don't do any heavy lifting. It could put you at risk for them to burst or twist. I wouldn't worry. They would have done biopsys right away if they were worried.
  • My mother had cyst that were going to turn to tumors and led to ovarian cancer. They put her on a bc pill to help get he cyst mass down. She didnt do her research and had a hysterectomy. And now she regrets it completely! All i can say is definetely ask all your options, its scary but there is other ways to control it other than a full hysterectomy
  • My aunt had ovarian cancer about 10 years ago and has been in remission since. She had a constant back pain, that wouldn't go away and kept going to doctors until finally one found it. From what Ive been told it is a cancer that doesn't have obvious symptoms, mainly back or hip pain. Make sure to keep bugging the doctors until you are satisfied with their answers!
  • Just be careful with cysts they are VERY painful if they rupture i have had five total rupture. They didnt think i would be able to concieve or carry a baby after my first daughter cause after having her was when i had 3 rupture within 11-14 months after i had her they were watching them but they ruptured in between appointments. My doc wouldnt listen to me so i switched doc. I have had two pregnancies since one mc and i have a almost 7 month old little girl (mc had nothing to do with cysts). Just make sure they watch it and liaten to you about your body and give you all your options. Goodluck hunny i know the worry is no fun.
