lots congestion and hard cough

my 5 mo old has had a cold for a whole month nw and ive taken him four times 2 the doc about it and the say o its just a lil cold he breathing is fine or he probably caught a cold back 2 back he will be fine bt my son coughs so hard he throws up his bottel some times and seems like he is chocking on his flim sumtimes this is scary its bn going on to long pls help and the pediatitions say no medician its nt severe enough and the fam kps saying it sounds bad and he need sumthing perscribed and get mad when i say doc sd no omg im tired of this an ppl thinking in there head im nt making the rite decisions as a mom cuz i havent givin him any cough medicine
