Has anyone ever tried these diets? Any success stories? I'm going to try it, I started today, I'm hoping it is the diet that I can stick with. I have read a lot about it and it sounds like it would really work, I just have to hope I can stick to it.
I tried.. Worked for 2weeks..lol I just love carbs!!! I was doin that along wit phentermine..but I stopped those too... good luck.. I think it will work if u stick to it n exercise too
A few years ago my inlaws did it and had great success, each losing around 50lbs but were very strict with it. Thats the only way it works well. I decided to try it too. I love carbs. Rice, potatoes, pop etc. So sticking with the 20 carbs or less rule was so hard. You'd be surprised at how many carbs are in EVERYTHING. Couldnt even have 1 whole sandwhich without going over the limit. Had to measure condiments etc. Also, I believe you subtract the amount of "dietary fiber" from the amount of carbs. Anyway, after 24 hours, I literally went into carb withdrawel. Cold sweats, throwing up etc. It was awful. I lasted 2 weeks then went and bought a whopper jr lol. It definitely works if you do it the correct way, but its super hard and just not the diet for me. Goodluck if you decide to try it. Let us know how it goes
I've done it and lost about 150lbs. It works just have to maintain the lifestyle, what I did was do low carb and high protein. Just be careful when adding things back in your diet.
I started low carb high protein diet on Feb 19th and love it. There are so many recipes out there that are actually good. I am down 20 last time I checked and bd is down 33.
I started yesterday and I thought I did great... until I looked online and found out that pears and apples have like 25 carbs and carrots have 8!!!!!!!! I was shocked, but I still ate very healthy. So now my question is exactly how many carbs are you allowed to have and what are some good snack ideas? @bonita85@pregnantELF@sehra4177
Honestly, I do hair, so I'm on my feet all day, and don't have much time for snacks, so I do protein bars and shakes. Also don't eat anything with bread, noodles, rice or potatoes! Eat soups or salad for lunch and meat for dinner! as for working out, I'm on p90x!
You are allowed 20 carbs a day for the first two weeks. After that, I believe you can slowly add a few more at a time until you get to where you arent gaining or losing weight. Its been a long time so I dont remember exactly how many you start adding after the two weeks but I know its not many. Also, like I said in a previous post, you are allowed to subtract.the dietary fiber. So if something has 10 carbs and the dietary fiber is 4, you only count 6 carbs. Yes fruit has a ton because of the sugar. Go buy the atkins book or find a list online that tells you all the amounts for different foods & serving sizes. Remember to count carbs for all dressings & condiments. Its a very tedious diet, counting & measuring everything but really works if you do it correctly & stick with it!
Try this site too. It better explains the process. I dont think you are supposed to eat ANY fruit the first 2 weeks. You should be getting all your carbs from leafy greens & high protein meats for it to truly work. The first two weeks are super strict but it works sooo well if you do it the way you're supposed to. After 2 weeks you can add fruits etc. heres the site I found. Hope its helpful http://www.fitnessbegin.com/dieting/atkinsdiet.html
I tried it 3/4 years ago, and lost lots of weight with it. I lost around 50lbs, and kept it off. Most of it's just water weight that you lose in the beginning as well, that will come back once you start adding things into your diet again.
