PLEASE HELP FEVER OF 102.5

edited May 2012 in Babies Health
My dd is 28 weeks. Possibly starting to teeth bit I'm freaking out because her fever is 102.5!!!! It's never been that high. Her head is burning up. Is this normal for teething? I'm still waiting for a nurse to call me back. Gave her pediacare at 1:00. Should I take her to the hospital!!! ???????

  • A tepid bath will help short term.
  • No, hospital isn't necessary :) fever 24 hours plus with no reaction to fever reducers or fever over 104, yes.

Fever is good and means your LO's body is fighting whatever infection off. Keep your baby cool, give a tepid bath and rotate between motrin and Tylenol every 4 hours. Wait for the call back from your doctor. Hope she feels better soon!
