Miserable *UPDATE*

Our compressor for our AC system broke last night. It is 92 degrees in the house and we dont have to money to get it fixed anytime in the near future. My kids are miserable and I am totally dying. I only had enough money to buy three fans and now we are flat broke. This blows!

  • Sorry to great that, you must live on the south to be that hot. I suggest some frozen breast milk sicles for the lo. And cool baths!
  • Set bowls of ice behind the fans and place bags of ice (or a frozen washcloth in a bag) in your pillow case, or under your Lo's sheet in the crib to help keep cool.

It isn't the best but trust me it helps.
  • Or you could just freeze your sheets, I've done that before and it works great when combined with a decent fan but you wake up wet....
  • I have one AC in my house and its old & crappy so it still stays like 80 degrees or more. It sucks so bad. I cant sleep at night. We all sleep naked lol, I feel for ya
  • Omg sorry mámá!

The temp here has been in the upper 70s to upper 80s and I still manage to wake up in a sweat.
  • @bettymomma I know thats not hot but I manage to sweat these days with that kinda temp if I was in 110° temp i'd be in the hospital lol :D
  • Lol!! @bettymomma and the weirdest thing is it never used to be like that until now.
  • And to think that I turned our heat on today since it was a balmy 55 here in Seattle today! I can't complain...we did hit 70 on Saturday!
  • Ours went out a couple weeks ago. It sucks. (Thank god we had bought a window unit last year when it was just me and hubby.) The guy came out to price a new one and it ended up it was just one piece and cost a whole lot less!! Hope you can get it fixed soon!!
  • BD decided to call a contractor and go to Fleet and Family Services to get an emergency loan to get it fixed. Well, all the contractors said that the earliest they could come was a WEEK away. They have to be kidding.

He contacted someone (an LLC) off craigslist and they came at 1pm. Fixed the problem for $172 bucks. I am SO relieved!
  • Thank goodness!! All we've got at my house is a window unit, and although it works well on mild days, once it gets into the 90.s, we're roasting. Glad it all worked out!!
  • Thanks @lilsugarsmomma! Sorry to not have tagged the rest.

Our house is 3000 sq feet with 4 bedrooms etc, so a window unit would be useless for us :( Or REALLLY expensive! We had to scrape money together just to get to fans yesterday for thirty bucks!
  • yay glad it was able to be fixed!
  • Glad y'all got it fixed!!!
