she fell off our bed

Ugh Omg! I know things like this happen enough that shouldn't feel awful. But I do! I turned around for a second and when I looked back she was gone! X_X she fell head first and did a somersalt(sp) on to her back. She cried for a good 5 minutes! Ugh I just feel so terrible :'(

  • Awe, she was probably more scared than hurt. It's ok, don't feel too bad...like you said, these things happen. Lol :)
  • @wilsomom probly but it look like it hurt.her neck kind of bent backwards as she was rolling on to her back.
  • O sorry hun these things do happen but its always good to make sure she is ok. Don't let her fall asleep after a fall, observe her, if she is in any way acting like not herself go to the er or the doctor asap. Hope she feels better
  • Daddy always puts Malia on the couch when I ask him to watch her. Well he wasn't paying attention & she fell over the side! About 30 inches. Right on her facce, upper forehead & nose were red. I was so pissed at him. Told him he better not ever put her on the couch again.
  • @salasmommy oh yea I immediately called my step mom after I calmed her down and asked what I needed to pay attention for. She is acting completely fine, you would've never known she fell and I am grateful for that. She has a rug burn spot on her forehead but that's about it...its not bad either just red.
@caroline8_p I know I always remind hubby to watch her and I'm the one that let her fall:-(
  • My daughter is such a wiggle worm. She is 7 months and has fallen off about 5 times already! Ugh! It kills me every time, babies are so quick! I make a barricade on the bed but she climbed over it.
  • @jnlelrod Not much of a barricade :)
  • @aishamusa I need an actual wall barricade for her :) She's a quick one lol
  • @jnlelrod she doesnt like sleeping in a crib or a bassinet??
  • My daughter climbed out of her crib before I lowered it and she made a loud thud. I flipped OUT, but she just wanted her dang stuffed turtle! Twins are daredevils. Still haven't gotten used to it. Lol
  • omg my son did that last week. i was 2 steps away plugging in the fan and he was in crawling postition at the edge of the bed, and i looked back to the outlet and looked back at him just to see him fall off the bed, and the way he landed his neck went back a little. and my mom ran up cuz she heard the bang :-(( i felt SOOOO BAD. it looked like it hurt so bad :-(
  • @jnlelrod well that makes me feel a little better. My lo is 8 months next week and that's the first time she's fallen. Yea babies are fast. I barricaded her too but it didn't work lol.
@aishamusa she probly does and as you will learn when you have your lo you plop them on the bed while you change or whatever..at least that's what I do. My lo sleeps in her crib, but she only goes in there when she is sleeping. I don't put her in there just so I can keep her contained like an animal.
@mrsstanleyx2 wow that is crazy! Luckily she hasn't gotten the hang of pulling herself up like that. Mine is just so nosey and likes looking over the side of things so that's how she fell.
@devins_mommy yea I felt like crap most of the day. I looked away for one second just one and there she went. It was like slow motion as I watched her fall but too fast to catch her. Her neck did the same thing, so I was like moving her arms, legs and neck to make sure she was ok.
  • @aishamusa yes, same as trixiesmom8 said, she does sleep in her crib, the times she is falling off the bed is when we are about to do a diaper change or we are in here playing and one of my other children get my attention real quick which becomes pretty hard when you have 4 to give them all attention. But yes, it happens to the best of us. I feel it is happening to Harper a lot more bc I have 3 other kids to tend to and it's certainly a challenge :) I have actually caught Harper falling off the bed once and yes its like slow motion, I become spiderman for a second lol!
  • @jnlelrod that's crazy...I just wasn't fast enough yesterday to catch her...I guess my spidy senses weren't tingling lol.
  • This just happened last night with my 3 month old. I usually feed him in the living room bc he shares a room with our two year old. I had him on the couch surrounded in pillows (we have a sectional and an ottoman that pushes up against it so its easy to push him up in the corner and even if he rolls its almost impossible to fall off) I went to the kitchen to get his bottle came back he was on the floor. He didn't cry or nothing...just laid there he was on his tummy just looking around...even tho he didn't hurt himself or cry I was so upset...I kept kissing him saying sorry. I cried:'(
  • Awe its ok mama as you can see it happens to the best of us @sehra4177 I was shaking so bad when it first happened. I was kissing her and tellin her that mommy was soo soo sorry. I didn't cry till after she went to bed lol idk why I guess nerves just got the best of me right then.
  • Hahaha lol!! That's too funny trixiesmom!! Yea I think the 5 other times my spidey senses were not working at all lol! Just that once :)
  • My baby fell off the couch and the bed before. He was fine but my mom made me feel awful.
  • @jnlelrod Haha maybe next time ill have better luck..well I hope there isn't a next time but I know that's not true lol.
@mom2ing awe that does make me feel better thank you.
@jess510 that sucks she made you feel bad.
