Yeast infection

edited June 2012 in Babies Health
I think Makenzie has a yeast infection. Her area has red marks on it (Looks like a rash). She has never had diaper rash and I haven't switched anything. Same diapers, whipes cream, lotion, soap, laundry soap all the same.

TMI but it is only on the lips part of down there. I've tired powerd to keep it dry as well as vascilline/aquaphore and it isn't getting any better (yet not getting worse either).
I opened it and there isn't any white discharge in there either though.
Any ideas?
If it is yeast infections any ideas how to get it to clear up?

  • A antifungal cream ugh I can remember the name the ladies on here have sed it I think it starts wit a L ? But the Dr always gave me nystatin for my kids
  • Ok sounds good. I have meds left over (oral) from when she got thrush which is a yeast infection of the mouth. Do you think if I gave her that med it would clear up?
  • my lo had one it will look like red lil bumps her doc gave me this cream it was the same cream they gave me for thrush
  • I wuld think it wuld be but check the bottle wen my daughter had thrush the bottle sed to throw away after 7 days
  • Hmm I didn't get cream for thrush I wish I would have! But I will have to check the bottle. I haven't given it to her yet.
  • Lotramin AF. (Anti-Fungal) You can pretty much get it anywhere.

I got it for my nipples when we got thrush
  • Lotrimin AF. Just used ut on my daughter's yeast infection.
  • I went to target and forget to get it BLAH! I will have to run out again tomorrow. Did it clear up fast with the AF cream? Is it going to come back with out taking meds?
  • Not to scare you but my Dr said you can only use powder on boys and not girls because it can get "up there" and cause cervical cancer
  • @Jessandjay, not only that, but it causes an increased occurance of UTI's. The talc in powder is what the concern is about. I think they do make powders that are talc-free, but powder really shouldn't be used period. There's no need for it.
  • I used corn starch.. I guess I should have put that instead of powder lol I only use it when it is really hot or she has a rash because i want to keep it dry
