runny nose

edited July 2012 in Babies Health
My 7 month old has a really bad runny nose. You can hear all of the congestion in his little nose when he takes a swap breath. He has no fever, no cough, playing normally, only other thing is he isn't sleeping well. I've been using an aspirator to suck out the congestion...but is there any thing else I can do to help? Also, his two top teeth are on the verge of breaking through....could this be the cause of the runny nose?

  • The runny nose is probably from the teeth since he doesn't have any other cold symptoms. At 7 months the nose sucker is your only option. It should clear up once those teeth pop thru!
  • Relieved its most likely the teeth! Going to put on some baby vix now! Thanks a bunch ladies! @Ashley_smashley @mom2ING
  • I also use a cool mist humidifier that seems to help my babygirl
  • @blessedtimes2 I have a cool mist humidifier running at all times. I know when I was little my mom put some sort of vix type liquid in my humidifier, I wonder if it would be safe to do for him and if they make special baby stuff.
  • Me too @tinksmommy I run mine every night while she is sleep and I'm sure I seen baby vics I think it was at Walmart
  • @blessedtimes2 I'll go check when I get off of work tonight.

Nyla has a bad runny nose n i tried the saline spray yesterday n it helped alot. she has a cold though. Ive been giving her baby tylenol n rubbin baby vicks rub on her back & chest. It helps alot.
  • Hes got vicks on his back and chest now and we've been giving him tylenol. He's got a little fever but nothing high. He just seems so miserable. I feel so helpless. I hope its just the teeth and the come out soon and stop hurting my poor little guy.
  • Okay I hope little man feels better soon:(
