can a pregnant minor receive medicaid?

A friend of mine has a 17 year old daughter who is not living at home, she is living with her older brother who is in his early 20's. She just found out that she is pregnant. The girl has health insurance but no maternity coverage. Will Medicaid try to use the parents income even though she's not living there?? Does anyone know?? The mother took her 6 months ago for an abortion put her on birth control and since then she moved out and is prego again by the same guy. He's 21.

Yes. Once she is pregnant she can get medicaid at any age if she has no medical coverage.

She has medical coverage but not maternity.

She's living with her brother but in the state of nc the parents are responsible for their children until the age of 21 and she's 17. I tried googling it but am coming up with nothing.
