Where is a good place to give away cats that doesn't make you pay to give them up?

I live in the Minneapolis, Minnesota area so if any of you ladies can find any links that would help a ton!! I've been trying to find some places but haven't had any luck...im in serious need of help....these cats are becoming too much. I DON'T want a place they has a kill option..

Thanks in advance

  • Craigslist hun.
  • Have you tried listing them on Craigslist? I am sure you could find a home that way.
  • What about offering them for free on Craigslist in your area? Or even just a sign in your front yard? :)
  • We all posted at once lol. @captivated @ashley_smashley
  • Lol I just saw that @wilsomom great minds....
  • Like everyone else said, craigslist. I would at least ask for a re-homing fee so you know their serious about taking the cat(s). You can also call petsmart or pet supermarket
  • Ahaha! Too funny!
  • Do u guys have ASPCA there they don't charge
  • I'm going through the same thing, I have 3 cats. I think I'm gonna put mine on craigslist. I feel like the biggest jerk ever doing it but I just don't have the energy or patience for them anymore. Tessa gets all my attention now!!
  • Be careful giving away or selling @ low-cost. Buyers (procures) for testing facilities go around scooping up farm kittens and other free/low-cost animals. So, use your best intuition and watch how any potential "new family" interacts with your cat/s.
  • Look on Facebook, where in live in Wisconsin there are a lot of groups to sell stuff or to give away in my area
  • I'm going through the same thing too. I'm from mn and I've been looking around and haven't found much. We're putting one of our 3 cats down and I'm just feeling like a shit. He isn't very sociable and he pees and poops on things so I think its better for him. I'm hoping one will go to my friends and one my brother might take. I just feel bad splitting them up too they've been together for 9 years.
  • I'm in MN as well.
If you take your cat to a shelter you can claim you found it and its not yours. They don't charge for that. But there is no promise that they won't put them to sleep if they can't find a home. Shelters are being over run right now.
But, I would personally do that before putting a cat for free on c
  • CL because you never know what kind of person is getting your cat. People pick up free cats for animak testing, bait for fighting dogs, snake food, hoarding, and so on.
  • Local humane society
