I'm on warferin and today got a letter saying I have an app at the hosp to see one friday jw if any1 else had and knws what cd be about etc ty in advance xxx
I've never seen one but hematologist treat blood related issues. The medication you are taking us for blood clots right? Perhaps they are sending you there for further work up. Try to relax. I'm sure all is fine.
i was told i wld need to see one but havent actually had a letter! i had a blood clot during my last pregnancy so they thought i sld see one this time around!
I went to school for phlebotomy and I know that ppl on blood thinners need to be monitored every so often to make sure that the dosage of medicine your taking is not making your blood too thin...or not thin enough. So if you do not have a family Dr who does this and sends you for routine blood work to check your levels, my guess is this is what your appt would be for. Good luck!
Ty @all see I go every2 weeks for blood tests to check inr levels and they never said anything when I got results etc that's what's got me worrying as its random and wasent prepared lol fingers crossed its nothing to worry about I hate hospitals
I'm sure its just a check up, they would have wanted to see you sharpish if there was an issue. Normally a hospital will want to see you every year or so just as a check up if you are on long term meds x
@YNVTish Warfarin is normally a tablet form of heparin or clexane. It is used to thin out the blood usually due to blood clots or other bleeding disorders. Quite often it is used in conjunction with aspirin to help control it.
A lot of older people are normally on warfarin and pregnant women are put on injections so it doesn't cross to the baby.
@YNVTish last chemo session was Monday and had the port removed just under an hour ago. Nausea has beena bitch this week but I did take the week off work. Next check up is in 6 weeks
