NOT ME!

edited September 2012 in Pregnant
A lot of pregly moms are pregnant again and it has me thinking this cannot happen to me again lol we are blessed and my son is well taken care of but if I have another we would be f*****! Currently I'm not on any birth control just condoms but I don't think that's enough! I couldn't keep up with the pills and the shot made me bleed non stop for about 7 months! My question is has anyone had a bad experience with the shot and tried it again and reacted better? I said I would NEVER get the shot again but I'm so paranoid about getting pregnant again and the shot would be perfect for me if it didn't make me bleed like a wounded animal lol soooo anybody???

  • Yes setting an alarm thats wat i did an never missed a pill
  • @Mama_Kat fixed sounds good but I want a little girl....maybe lol yea I do but later on down the line I'm still in school and indecisive on the career field I want to pursue 100% lol I got pms symptoms this week and freaked out b/c I thought I was just starting my period with my son and waited and waited and waited on that period and it never came b/c I was pregnant with my son lol but I got what I was looking for this time and started to think maybe 7 months of bleeding is not as bad as I thought I overreacted lol lmao!
  • @Roxy @Mrz_Jackson believe it or not I set the alarm sometimes I heard it sometimes I didn't I feel irresponsible with those pills and I felt like lol it was like candy and they weren't really working so I was nervous about it and I'm pretty sure they probably were I just wasn't comfortable even though we still use protection...

  • I was on the shot 4 years and hated it well after sophia I did it again still hated lol but its always worth a try
  • What about an iud? Patch? Nuvaring?
  • @captivated I'm thinking about paraguard do you know how much that would cost me? Originally that's what I wanted bf made me second guess it so I picked the shot b/c my sister has been on it for years b/c her cycle was making her severely sick so I thought it would be fine for me but no my body didn't react to it the same unfortunately and I was very miserable...
  • @erkiehadagirl aww man that's what I was wondering do it get better over time lol so what are your problems with the shot?
  • Try being me I'm scared to death to get pregnant again but refuse to use any birth control. Except I would use condoms but my husbands kind of stubborn about it
  • I have implanon...it's the little toys that guides in your arm...Good for 3 years. Idk about the bleeding tho cause I'm still breastfeeding

Little rod that goes*..stupid auto correct
  • I wouldn't recommend that shot for anyone. I had the most terrible mood swings, crying about every little thing, hot flashes, acne, fatigue, I didn't have any weight gain the last time that I was on it...but the first time I gained like 25 lbs back when I was in college. Some people have no problems with it at all but being that you bled for so long, I wouldn't risk it again if I were u! I got a depo shot back in April but I'm back on the mini pill now. Oh yeah, I forgot to mention that my hair started falling out when I got it so now I'm starting completely over bc I had slit ends everywhere...Imo depo is poison!
  • It depends on what insurance you have. If none, medicaid has family planning available for free BC. Planned parenthood does sliding scale fees and could cost around 100 there. I'm not a fan of the implanon because all of my patients and friends had months and months of bleeding. Copper IUD is probably the best option for you as it is the ONLY hormone free contraceptive.
