whats for dinner ladies?

edited September 2012 in Just for Fun
What are you all having for dinner tonight?

I am going to make french bread pizza. It'll be simple and easy since I really don't feel like cooking. Just taking the french bread, adding some pizza sauce, mozz cheese, pepperoni, and some banana peppers, and obviously popping it in he oven till the cheese is nice and melted. I found the idea off of pinterest, I actually never thought to make it myself lol.

    Taco Dip (best ever)

    1/2 tablespoon taco seasoning
    2 tablespoons water
4 ounces cream cheese, room temperature
    1/2 cup sour cream

    1 cup salsa
    1/2 cup jack cheese, shredded
    1/2 cup cheddar cheese, shredded

    Directions

    1. Brown the ground beef in a pan, drain the grease add the taco seasoning and water, mix and simmer until the water evaporates.
    2. Mix the beef, cream cheese, sour cream, mayonnaise, salsa and cheeses in a large bowl, reserving some of the cheese.
    3. Pour the mixture into a baking dish and top with the reserved cheese.
    4. Bake in a preheated 350F oven until it is bubbling on the sides and golden brown on top, about 20-30 minutes.
  • We are going lasagna from scratch! We try our best to make it yummy but still healthy :)
  • Sounds delicious! @molly
@mrz_jackson what have you decided on for dinner?
@jules yea I usually buy stuff that's frozen and can pop in the oven..this week I actually tried to make dinner and its not really working for me. Plus its more expensive!! I can usually spend about $75 for the week and this week I spent an extra $25 for only 3 meals AND I didn't get all of my ingredients. It's just me and hubby with the 10 month old.
  • Jules but sounds really good. I wish I could make things from scratch.
  • Ugh not to sure yet sumthn wit chicken!
  • Well I'm only doing that because on Mondays we get together at my parents house my mom bought the stuff otherwise I wouldn't be making it from scratch it is very expensive..
  • Last nights leftovers -- Pot roast with veggies.
  • @mrz_jackson we have chicken all the time lol its our go to meat!!
@jules oh wow!! Yepp that was nice of her. Hope it turns out well.

  • @jdensma sounds yummy!!
@mommyof3girls gotta do whatcha gotta do!
  • I feel like cooking is cheaper than freezer food. Once you have most basic ingredients, the rest is simple, cheaper per meal.

Tonight im making these thin cut steak thingys with potatoes and corn.
  • Roast, potatoes and carrots. And crescents! Mmm, smells so good, it's been cooking in the croc pot since 9:30!
  • Pork chops, broccoli rice, and corn

  • Meatloaf, sweet potatoes, and rice
  • All this sounds good and reminds me that we need to go grocery shopping lol. Idk what I am making!
  • I just made some instant brown rice then sauteed some onions in a small skillet & threw a can of diced tomatoes, a can of black beans and some chili powder in. Amazingly it was low in calories (according to the My Fitness Pal app) and extremely filling! And good! :)
  • I had taken pork chops out but my husband has decided he is going to a friends house to watch the game so I'm not sure now.
  • @wilsomom you're kids will eat that? How did you get them not to be so picky? Tell me you're ways :)
We're having chili and cornbread, i cannot wait for it to start feeling like fall
  • Salad and Chicken Alfredo
  • @kimberly4411 chili sounds wonderful! I think I will make that tomorrow!
  • We are having Asian glazed chicken legs, garlic potatoes...abd whatever veggie I find in the freezer lol
