They had the lady that was bfing in applebees when the manager asked her to hu feed her baby in the....BATHROOM!! ARE YOU KIDDING ME?!? and then they had the professor who brought her baby to her college class and nursed in front of the class cause baby was sick...the lady in the Applebees got wayy more support then the professor tho...everyone said the professor shouldn't have brought her sick baby to the class...surprisingly tho the feedback was all positive...Ithink it was like 87% of people thought there was nothing wrong with bfing in public (granted the rest of those people are just ignorant lol but I.was surpised the percentage was that high lol)
@captivated...that's what I say too...I'm as pro bfing as they come...but the classroom is no place to nurse if your are supposed to be the professor...I dunno just think its inappropriate...she tried to make a case that if the government provided childcare for "working class women" this wouldn't have been an issue...but that argument didn't really make much sense to me since the child was sick anyways...but I guess to each their own
Whoa whoa whoa @coltensmamma. Government provide childcare for working women? Really?! They have childcare assistance, but it is NOT the governments place to do so. That is an insanely drastic overstep of the government. Slippery slope. People need to STOp depending on the government and stop with the entitlement attitudes. It is your responsibility to provide for your children. Not the government. If they need the assistance social services provides, go for it. But where does she expect this to be provided from? All government assistance is provided from the citizens income. Insanity.
When I was in school, I didnt just bring my kids to class when they were sick. No. I stayed home eith them or found others to help out. As a nurse, it would be extremely unacceptable to bring my son to work and nurse him as I am triaging a patient. Why is her case any different? It's those types of women that give the rest of the pro breastfeeding movement a bad name. Where the heck is her common sense?
During my graduate studies, myself and a fellow peer brought our babies to class and nursed. I know it's different than being a professor, but they were very supportive of breastfeeding.
@captivated...I never said I agreed with her!!!!! Lol .... She's nuts and people with that mentality kill me! I just don't think she had a valid arguement and that was the best thing she could.come up with...when asked why she didn't let the t.a. take over for ten mins, she said she didn't want to cause a disruption to the class.....seems like she caused much more of a disruption this way?!?
@mijita..I have no problem with nursing in a lecture, I just think.doing it while you are the one that is supposed to be lecturing is completely unprofessional...as a student if I had to do it, I would make sure I didn't disrupt anyone and take care of my business lol
From what I got from it...the lady at applebees was and the professor was not?? Could be wrong tho, I was trying to watch it with a 2 1/2 yr old and a 1 year old lol
