really?!

Ok so the neighbors have this dog...it is always barking non stop! To the point its driving us crazy. We go outside its barks...not just a bark but it keeps barking. Last night at 12 am it was barking til about 3 am. My fiancee said someone (other neighbor) went outside and yelled shut the f**ck up...everyone is annoyed. The one day my kids were outside in the yard in the pool and the lady comes outside bc the dog has been barking non stop for about 45 min already....yells at the dog to shut up, goes back in as she is she yells he is barking at those damn kids! And slammed the door. Really?! So my kids don't have the right to beIn our yard in our pool? Of course she didn't give me time to respond bc I woulda jumped the fence and given her a piece.
Anyway, its been ongoing since they moved in this summer. My neighbors were joking they were going to throw tainted ma over to the dog...of course they wouldn't do it but everyone is frustrated. Around here its not like you can just talk to people I've learned that where I lived before...I confronted a neighbor about music and after that my mail got stolen...netflix movies taken. I'd find burned stuff outside my door. So what do I do? I've heard that if you call the cops after 3 complaints they can be evicted..true? Or no...if not what should I do?? I'm so fed up. Mind you I hear it in my bedroom on the third floor. I also always have a fan on to drown out noise and still hear it. Help!!

  • File noise complained and if u do get the police involved I'm sure they are not going to be Happy about her going off on the dog but saying it's the Childrens fault.
  • if u keep filing noise complaints theyll after a certain amount theyll get fine $500+
  • @BlessedTXMom lol at the hotdog...that works? See the thing is they are home all the time but never have the dog inside..I mean why bother having a dog?
@Mama_Kat ok thx. I'm hoping it works bc I'm gonna go crazy!
@jules I am gonna do it, do you know if they'd take it during the day? Or would it be better to wait til night bc after like 9pm all noise like that shouldn't be going on? I just don't want to call and they are like duh its day time and it may be noisy.
@MyBamBina28 that's what I was thinking is a fine, but would the landlord get dined or the tenant? I wish I could find out the landlords name bc I'd contact him first and tell him if nothing is done then call police.

  • Yea I would call animal control. I just recently learned that it is illegal to leave a dog outside for an extended period of time without shelter and water. So my next question is do they have a dog house out there and water bowl? My friend just called animal control bc her neighbor left his dog outside all day long with no foid or water and shr felt bad for the dog and called animal control to see if they can do anything. Well that day animal control went to their door and the dog hasnt been legt outside since! I know laws are probably different im in IL. but you can approach it like that. Like you are concerned for the dog and annoyed by the barking
  • I think if you call animal control and tell them that you are concerned for the dog because it is outside constantly and constantly barking for some reason maybe they would come check things out?
  • the owner of the dog would be fined do u ever see their landlord on the property?

  • I think u had great idea at doing it at night that way but only are they breaking nose hours but then u can tell them about the situation the other day. But u can call anytime on the day and say this dog won't stop and this goes on all night and u finally decided to call. :)

  • @jules @trixiesmom8 @Graysonsmommy @georgias_mummy I think I'm gonna call its been outside since I left to take my daughter to school at 830 its noon now.
@MyBamBina28 no the way its setup is the house behind us...so the front of their house faces an alley...I only saw the landlord when he was getting it ready for them to move in.
@Mama_Kat that's actually a good idea...I bet people will call. I thought someone did bc it wasn't outside as much for about 3 days...then once I said it out loud that I hadn't heard it in awhile he started up again:( I jinxed.myself lol.
  • @Mama_Kat I agree...I'm not a dog person at all...had too many bad experiences with them. So I don't have one. I don't gets animals for the kids either bc my daughter couldn't keep up with any pet we got...to me I'm not a pet person so I wouldn't go get one and not take care of it...so I can't understand how people buy pets, dogs and neglect them. Don't get me wrong I love animals but I hate cleaning up after them...so I prefer to not go there. The thing is alot of people around here do that. They gets a dog and neglect it.
  • Oh and no dog house just a grill and the rest of the yard is empty. I don't even see food or water

  • I have the same issues on both sides. I called the cops on one and reported animal abuse to the humane society. They didn't do anything because the dog is the right weight -.- he had no food, water, or shelter and was outdoors during all weather. They do keep him in more though. My Mon complained to the neighbors on the other side. That hasn't seemed to help though. So yeah, id just call the police. No benadryl. That's horrible. What if he was allergic or something :( I'm just an animal lover lol
  • Animal control will be able to do something alot quicker then police (family works for animal control) like mentioned above cops probably won't do anything but talk until they get tired of going out there. Animal control *usually* gives 1 warning then issue a ticket after every occurance
  • And bendryl is completely safe for animals in moderation (: (via family vet) I use it on my dog religiously because he is highly allergic to ants and bugs in general
  • Well let me know how it goes I really hope they can help you out and I'm sure the other neighbors are going to be thankful as well.
  • @blessedtxmommy its possible to have adverse effects.
  • Thx to all of you ..I'm hoping since its been pretty cool outside at night they will keep it inside.
