not as much baby movements.

edited January 2011 in Pregnant
I first felt the baby move last week when I was 17 weeks. The baby was very active and I felt it a lot and now I'm 18 weeks and hardly feel it. I know you don't keep track of fetal movements right now but should I be worried.

  • Im with you on this one I'm 16 wks n I felt the movements more frequently about a wk ago n now hardly feel anything Hmmm?
  • I would ring the hospital or midwife better to be safe than sorry! How long have you not been feeling movements for? I stopped feeling movements I got bath and played music to her and she started wiggling again so I knew she was okay but hospital can't moan at you for being worried and remember she /he is still very small. Good luck
  • I don't know weather to be concerned or what.
  • I have only been feeling movements for a week. I didn't know if I should wait it out or call the doctor.
  • Well little one is only little so she might have to be in a certain position for you to feel her! I would ring just to put your mind at rest they can't moan about it because there job is to help You... Give them a ring hope all goes okay let me know if all is okay good luck :)
  • Sorry I keep saying she!
  • Haha no its fine. The baby is most active at night so I'm gonna see how tonight goes and if nothing ill call tomorrow thank you though.
  • Okay take it easy good luck!
  • I was the same way at 25weeks and went to hospital they said dont worry about fetal movement until after 30wks kick counts dont really count but I say if ur worried go get it checked out I recently went at 32wks bcuz my baby moved less but she was fine.
  • I'm just worried because I haven't gained any weight and with me being so small and the baby being almost seven inches I feel that I should feel it more. And a few close people to me have miscarried so I'm really scared.
  • When you go to bed tonight, drink some ice water right before you lay down; when I was pregnant with my daughter someone told me to do that if I was worried about not feeling her enough & I worked every time =) good luck!
  • *it (worked every time)... lol
  • I was the same way
Don't freak out just call ob for an ultrasound. I'm sure baby is ok!
  • I like only drink water. And a lot at night. I'm going to call just to be safe because I haven't felt anything for two days. Maybe one movement or so but its not blot and Not consistent. But thank you guys a lot for the advice.
  • im actualy under weight Im 34wks and still cant gain any weight im all belly and im always in massive pain especially when she moves lately I been back and forth to the hospital just to make sure. So if ur really worried hun go and get check to put urself at ease. Better to be safe
  • I figure I will at least see what my doctor says and them go to the hospital if nothing.
  • @due_in_july I'm due July 10 almost 17 weeks I thought I felt my baby last week for a few days but now I'm not sure cause what I thought was movement hasn't happened again I was suppose to go to Dr yesterday but it snowed and closed early do I go tomorrow I'm very worried that something has happened but nothing I can do about it right now. Im praying for you and your lil one I would say not to worry but I know you will I know I am about my lil one
  • I worry about everything. I couldn't wait to feel the movements but at the same time was scared this would happen. I'm just gonna see how things go tonight. I really hope I feel something. But thank you @debs.
  • @due_in_july I will be 17 weeks tomorrow. This is my second child and I haven't felt any movement yet. I also haven't gained but 1 pound to date. I had an appointment this morning and my Dr said everything was great baby had a strong heartbeat and he wasn't worried about no movement or my weight. With my first one I only gained 18 pounds and most if that I gained my last 10 weeks. If you have Amy questions or concerns call your Dr or nurse. That's what they are there for. Best of luck!
  • @due_in_july I went to see my Dr almost in tears and my baby was fine strong heart beat and moving like crazy. U couldn't believe it since I haven't been able to feel the baby move.
  • I'm now 22 wks an I don't feel the baby move as much as I did but the doctor said that's cause the baby is still(sleeping) while your up an about an moves while Your sleep... they start their own sleeping cycle opposite of yours
  • @soontobemommedj. That totally makes sense thank you
  • Your welcome... ill be glad to answer any other concerns because I call my doctor almost everyday lol...
  • They are very active! But its too early to feel. When they are in certain positions its easter to feel. But ya, the more active you are the less you will feel. I work on my feet all day so the motion basically puts baby to sleep. Then when your still that's when they start moving more. Again they are small and surrounded by fluid that masks most movement. Wait till your 6~8 weeks further. You will start noticing more of a pattern. Just relax and enjoy what you get to feel for now.
  • @kmose77 I know I shouldn't worry and that its too early to really tell I'm just a worrier although I try not to I just can't help it but thank you a lot. It made me feel better
