Fear of miscarriage

edited March 2011 in Pregnant
Hi all. I know I may sound nuts but I am 6 weeks along with my second and I am having major fears of losing the baby. So far everything is normal but I guess I have been reading the posts and I see so many who have suffered through ,iscarriages that I am starting to obssess about it. Am I being totally irrational? I just lost my brother in a car accident so my fear of loss is high. Does anyone else have this fear? I feel like if I think about it too much I will make it happen. Ugh this is so nerve wracking!!

  • I know the feeling. I lost two grandparents after the lost of my first baby, and now that I'm expecting again, I'm Scard beyond all belief. One thing I can say that helps is gold off on the planning, name choosing, etc. Till after the.first trimest3r. That's when most occur. That's what I have been trying to do.
  • It is completely normal for you to worry, To be honest ppl would worry if every pregnant woman didn't have fears. Its like getting married its just cold feet and "oh no am i ready" "will everything go ok"

here are signs to worry about:
    heavy bleeding,
painful cramps with clots coming out
    and a fever.
  • Wow im sorry for your loss. Yeah im trying not to get too excited yet but cant help it. My son is turning 10 so this baby was a bit of a surprise and I feel so insecure you know? Plus I found out so early! With my son I didnt find out till 14 weeks so the worst was already over. This one I found out at 3 weeks so ive been stressing. I am so nervous
  • THanks hnjen. Yeah so far so good. I get cramps but I think its just the stretching. Nothing major
