Ok I'm a single soon to b mom n I have come across an opportunity to buy my first house. My mom is going to pretty much pay my morage for the first 20 months so I can save up n start getting child support money. I've always been the type of person to do stuff on my own. But this just seems so perfect. I will be able to provide for my baby. What should I do?

I would go for it.I just recently bought a house also, and I think if you are still able to take care of other expenses go for it!

Do it! My dad is giving me his 4 bedroom house.. of course paying rent but cheaper then a house payment for a 200,000 dollar house. I don't feel bad at all. I feel blessed!

Not sure! I don't think you should buy it unless you can pay the mortgage yourself. During this recession I don't think you should put your mother in the situation to take care of two homes... or is she moving with you?

I'm just nervous that I wont be able to afford it after those months. I'm sure I will but its scary right now. N I know I'm a single mom but I have this small thought n the back of my head that what if me n the bd get back together? He has his own house. Then we would b stuck with 2 houses. I know I shouldn't think like that but its n my head. But I got to do this right? I have to move on with my life n do what's best for this baby right? Not hope for me n bd to get back together right?

No she paid off her house. She doesn't have a mortgage of her own. N the money is coming from her stock she is going to cash. N I would b happy just moving n with her cause I live wit room mates right now but she said she doesn't want me move n with a newborn. So she gave me this option.

Make sure you can afford it or make sure if when time comes mom will Continue to help so you don't lose your home.

I think you will be fine, if I can do it at my age by myself you can do it for sure! But make sure you want it for you and that you will be happy with the decision

If your mom is in the position to pay that for almost 2 years then I'd let her! Home prices are cheap right now! Also look for bank foreclosures, cheap but if there's anything that needs repaired you're on your own. Good luck. I wish my mom would pay my rent for 20 months!
