Having a Mixed/Bi-Racial Baby

Hey everyone I am pregnant with a Bi-Racial baby and I want to know if anyone else is and what you think about the mixture of two cultures. Me and my BF are always discussing this and I just want to hear some other opinions/stories/experiences/inputs

Im also having a bi-racial baby and I can't wait to meet my little princess! I've only had direct ignorance experiences a couple times. Im sure its going on behind my back but I really don't care congrats!

I have 8 bi-racial cousins (all girls) and I think they're the most beautiful little girls I've ever seen...my cousin Megan is also due in may with a bi-racial baby boy and I can't wait to meet him

My babygirl will be puerto rican, bajan (from my side) and jamaican (from her dads) its wonderful bcuz both of our familys are very cultural and she will always kno of her roots

My first is but she looks white and this one is half black and a mixture of white and indian

Its so much fun to have something to wonder about like skin tone. I can't wait to see what she looks like. Daddy is pretty dark and I'm pale but the Indian in me can dominate the white

Both my daughters (5 & due July 10) are both mixed. There are racist people n my family on my mothers side, but I wouldn't have it no other way. My daughter is beautiful n I'm sure this one will b also.

I am biracial. I survived childhood. Be prepared for the.hell your kids may go through. I suppose it depends where you live though. I grew up in a place you just would not associate with diversity but I think there are.going to be fewer issues the more diverse your neighborhood is. Look up Lawrence Hill's book, Blackberry Sweet Juice. It's all about growing up biracial.

My baby is going to be Black and Russian. I am so excited but Just like @Mama_Kat me and my BF keep eyeing all the mixed kids we see and try to guess what ours will look like. It has almost become a game lol. Thank you @firsttimemommy711 and congrats to you and everyone!!! I've been getting some out of the way comments but I'm still ecstatic!!! @kalasthename yes they are very beautiful children @ProudMommie627 you are going to have a real beauty with a mix like that. @Proudmomma that's what I am wondering about. I am all black. My family is from New Orleans and Senegal and My bf is Russian(blonde hair and green-blue eyes). I just don't know what my baby is going to look like, there's a huge margin lol.

Your baby is going to be gorgeous I can tell you that much. There's just something about biracial babies. It just works LOL

Light skin black with green eyes and nice silky hair would be beautiful...that's how I see your baby in my head lol

My girl will be bi-racial...Mexican and white. But will probably look white because my bf is a white mexxican lol.

Wow @bex i am going to see about purchasing this book on my nook color now. Thank you. I live in Atl but am from Cali so I am getting a taste of racism now that I didn't really grow up with. I have mixed family members and have heard their stories which makes me a little apprehensive but I wouldn't change my babies father for anything so it is inevitable. I appreciate the insight into the lives of Bi-Racial people who already know the hardships so I can know what to prepare my little one for.

All my children are mixed son is half Mexican daughter half black and this one willl be half Dominican. I think my children are beautiful and everyone always compliments how cute my kids are.

I'm not but I absolutely think bi-racial babies are some of the most adorable children I've known. As long as you try to connect them to both races I think they will feel comfortable in who they are. find traditions of both sides and ways to introduce culture... Congrats!!!!

For me it was rough but I don't think I went through anything different than other minority children. And I don't think it should stop anyone from making gorgeous multiracial children. But for those who haven't grown up with racism (and even those who have) I believe it is incredibly important to educate yourself on how to be your child's greatest ally and advocate.

@kalathename and @bex thank you that sounds so wonderful, I would be so happy ladies for those results(not that it's all that's important to me)!!! ProudMommy627 yes this is my first baby and my family is very open about it for the most part and if they aren't they won't tell me to my face. I have had some side remarks from some like "theres nothing like a chocolate baby or my baby will never be confused about what they are". I just ignore this though. @anadoll92 and @Caiti5 sounds like two more beautiful babies will be added to the world

@mrsrocketfield1221 I am going to make it a priority that my baby is connected to both my Senegalese background and her dad's Russian background. Me and my BF were just discussing this today. And thank you so much!! @bex you are exactly right I will be my baby's greatest ally and my first step now is to definitely educate myself and become proactive in learning the best defenses, I can already see from some of the feedback i am getting now that it's not going to be all smile and hearts. @GhettoBetty My Nephew is black and dominican and he is too cute so I know your are the same.
