  • Take the mothers copy of the birth certificate down to the social services office as soon as he's born and let them know you want him on medicaid. They may may not let you on medicaid if you are not pregnant when you sign. I have now but it ends 3 months after the baby is born.
  • If yu get it while your pregnant the baby is covered for 30 days after he is born.
  • I applied while I was preg n he was covered from the day he was born and then had to recertified a yr after he was born.also has insurance when I was preg n got Medicaid as a secondary insurance.you call and ask what documents to bring 1st bc I newses stuff like my birth certificate,SS card, photo id,proof of residence, proof of my medical insurance, last 4 paystubs if any.
  • In TN a woman cannot get medicaid unless she is pregnant or cannot afford or get insurance elsewhere. It differs state to state.
  • Well, I was on Medicaid when I had my son and it automatically gave him Medicaid also. But you on the other hand have to qualify to get Medicaid after the baby is born. That's how I have it done in fl anyways.
