Confinement foods

Hi ladies, just to understand if you take confinement foods after delivery?

We Chinese have to take them for the first 30 days after delivery. Also no baths for the first 10 days, we can only drink brewed herbal drinks etc. :-D

I didn't know that. Nothing like that here. After my first I sent hubby to IHOP right after then took a shower.

Can I ask what kind of foods and the reason for no bath for ten days?

Food tt hv lots of ginger or sesame oil in it, like vinegared trotters or sesame chicken. we called tt 'heaty' stuff cos women r cool after delivery so these food helps to balance up. No bathe as in no 'wind' will seep into ur body. We believe in thus way we wont hv backache or rheumatism in later years.
