Prenatal Vitamins....

edited March 2011 in Health
I was wondering if taking the ones Dr prescribes is better for the baby over the
ones like the target brand. I took the target ones my last pregnancy and daughter was just fine but I noticed the target ones don't have DHA in them. Has anyone asked their doctor this?

  • I just assume they are better. I take OB Complete 400. But honestly if you were fine with Target before I wouldn't worry. But if you have ins. Why not get the Rx ones.
  • My doctor said they are fine. I take prescription ones for other reasons but as long as you are able to tolerate they should be ok.
  • @grnfish73 @maggie Thanks. I do have insurance so maybe ill try some of the samples they gave me. The only reason why I took target brand last time is cuz I have a strong gag reflux even when not prego and the pills were just so huge. Ill see if I can handle any of these new ones tho.
  • My name is jandy! But when it gets pronouned by eroupeins it becomes yandi (yarn-dee. Another name for weed)
  • They have chewable prenatles that prescription
  • Omgosh @06ohiomommy87 that is awesome! Thank you
  • I dont think it makes much.of a difference as long as your taking something! My doc has me taking 2 flintstones a.day my tummy couldnt tolerate other kinds
  • DHA makes a fish taste is what my dr said. Cause I complained about mine hoping he'd prescribe something different
  • @faithmom77 your welcome they taste like sweet tarts just a little bad after taste
