subchronic pregnancy with threatened miscarriage risk

I went to the er last night with mild cramping (no bleeding) at 5 1/2 weeks pregnant. The ultrasound showed Subchronic bleeding and the doctor told me this will most likely end in miscarriage. I read online that this usually does not end in miscarriage. These mixed messages are.confusing. Has this happened to anyone else before who can give me some insight? Thank you.

    Had one with my son at 5weeks also except the only things the jackass er doc said was o well ur miscarrying nothing we can do, then when I went to doc he said just take it easy he is now a happy healthy hyper 2 yr old
