twins?

edited March 2011 in Second pregnancy
I'm 6 weeks pregnant with my second child and the father is a twin and has a few twins in the family. I haven't been for an ultrasound sound yet as its best to wait .. im wondering if anyone anyone knows the changes on having twins if the father is one?

  • Men don't pass down the twin gene. Just women.

I'm pretty sure I looked this up recently.
  • Ya i read something like that too. Its on the womens side. However, i think it also stated that its not for sure only from womens side.
  • Okay that's good to hear! The doctor I spoke to seemed to think it was, but couldn't tell me the chance of having twins
  • Its on the mothers side and if they're identical that's just a fluke and genetics play no role.
  • It is only on the mom's side but he can inherit the gene and pass it to your daughter if you have one, increasing her chances of twins. Also that is such a gorgeous pic!
