I was always told there's nothing that is 100% safe, but there are some meds considered "safer" for pregnant moms. I had a BAD head/chest cold in February, & I used Tylenol for fever, menthol cough drops, Vick's vapor rub, & drank plenty of OJ, fruit juice, water, & Gatorade. You can Google something like "Cold medicines safe for pregnancy," & look for some better answers that way. Or, you can always call your OB & ask!
@MichelleLannan: Benadryl is listed as safe according to WebMD, & the list my OB sent home with me during my first appointment. Just be careful with tea, as it does contain caffeine, which is something we need to cut out or severely limit our intake of during pregnancy.
@MichelleLannan: This is actually my 3rd pregnancy, but I lost the first two at 8 weeks & 5 weeks to miscarriage. I'm 25 weeks and will be 26 weeks on Saturday. VERY exciting for me! How about you?
@LillieBug k lol @jenn_929 I'm like that with coffee my doc said one cup a day is fine @artistmamma I'm sorry for your loss! congrats though you're def in the clear now. Im 9 w 6 d. This is my 4th preg. I have a 19 m old son then 2m/c. Waiting to hit that 12 week mark so I can stop worrying...i swore I felt my baby "flutter" earlier today it put me at ease .. But now everyone thinks im crazy lol
Tea is fine if decaff. And benedryl the original...no extra..robotussen dm or regular, saline up nose can help rinse out sinus and congestion. And humidifiers are amazing. Good luck hun and feel better soon!
