It sounds really odd but oatmeal or granola bars help with the craving. just have to get past the first 3 days and the nicotine should be out of your system
I just bought my hubby an electric cigarette from the smoke shop. It was $10 cause it is a throw away one, but he has had it since January and still using it. I only suggest it so maybe you can step down using it. It only has nicotine, no chemicals and no smoke!
I quit two weeks before Xmas last year. Was horrible but now the smell is gross. It was hare but after 3 weeks, I walked behind smokers. Lol don't use those electric ones. There is no point. You gotta get gum and water. Detox with tea. It helps. Good luck.
I thought it was going to be impossible, but buy a pack of american spirits cut down to about three a day and swear to your self its your last pack. My mate and I quit smoking the same day haven't smoked in almost two months. If you can make it threw the first two weeks... The rest will be history
I quit cold turkey with ciggys...weed and caffine all at the same time...don't do it...I prob my baby a lot of problems from my stress and depression alone. Start chewing gum if you can and tru to cut your ciggys to one a day then cut it down to where you only smoke one when you feel super stressed or depressed. Chew lots of gum thoufh my jaws started hurting because I went through a half a pack to a whole pack a day lol.
Thanx everybody I have tried for the past three days now the day I found out about the baby but every day is hard and ppl is pushin me to it but I just keep thinkin about my baby and takin it day by day
That's all you can do. I was working 14 hr overnight shifts when I quit and I turned into a cold hearted bitch and all my coworkers wanted to drop kick my in my face lol. Cold turkey prob wasent the best thing I did. But do your best and make sure you don't stress urself.
well all i can do is tell you what i did... it might work it might not..
day 1)i told everyone that i would be quitting in the next few days and that i may need help... day 2)instead of smoking everytime i had a craving i just took a drag or two off of someone's day 3)i would wait 3+ hours to ask someone for a drag day 4) only stole a drag from my bf before bed day 5) i was good and didnt smoke..
compared to my bf who quit the following day cold turkey i can be around smoke and not be bothered while he has to walk away because it gives him cravings
When I quit I found that procrastination worked better than denial. It made me want it more if I just said no all together to the craving. So I instead said I could have one later and then tried like hell to find a distraction.
For a month I allowed myself to smoke only after 10 pm. At first I could have two or three if I really wanted. But after a week, I only wanted one. Then I found myself going to bed without even thinking about my daily cig.
I used the same pack for weeks, so it got stale and gross.
After a couple weeks, I didn't mind being in front of other smokers. I had broken my addiction, and most of my habits. Reassigning the habitual cigarettes to a one time, daily allowance really helped me. So start by breaking your habits.
Don't smoke right after you eat (that was a big one for me). Tell yourself you can have one in an hour and find some busy work.
Don't smoke while driving. Get some nice car fresheners so it doesn't stink. Maybe sprinkle some baking soda on the upholstery and carpets, let it set for about 10-20 minutes and then vacuum. Might help kill more of that odor in your car.
And busy work doesn't mean TV or a movie. You need to have busy hands that don't have time to wish for a cigarette to hold. Baby registry, drawing, scrap booking, learn to knit (or not, it's a little frustrating and could be a trigger for cravings!), etc.
