  • Sleep disturbance in the first trimester is normal due to the increased hormones. Make sure to at least rest in the day when you get tired to help make up for the lost sleep at night. Try taking a warm bath before bed and drink warm milk (unless you are dairy free) to help ease your body back to sleep. Our bodies have to "rev up" energetically to make a baby so that makes us feel a little more tired or overwhelmed sometimes. Know that it is normal and be as good to your body as you can. It should get a little better in the second trimester. Make sure to take advantage of that time and get lots of sleep because the last trimester brings more sleep-disturbed nights due to the size of the belly and bathroom visits because the belly puts pressure on the bladder.

Hope that helps. Good luck with your pregnancy!
