how to progress long early labor?

edited March 2011 in Giving birth
Been in early labor for over 24 hours now and I am ready to see some progress!!! Contractions started about 40 sec- 1 min long with 10 min in between, finally started getting stronger last night but I was so exhausted I went to bed, they slowed down, woke me up a couple times but only slept about 5 hours, got up and now they are about 7 min apart and a min long, how can i get things moving faster??? I walked and walked last night til I thought my hips would unhinge! Ready to get this baby out ALL NATURAL. Any suggestions greatly appreciated.

  • If there is a way that you can sit in a squated position it would help. This is a hard one though... I was in "early" labor with my first for 2 days before she was born. Hang in there....
  • You might go in by now they might be able to give you something. I started false labor which turned around giving me regular contractions but not close enough either so any info would help
  • Walk walk walk, but don't exhaust yourself that baby will come exact when he/she is ready
  • Get on all fours and sway back and forth.. lol looks funny but it might work
