  • Its all about genitics hun, if ur mother had great skin jus pray to god u do. So don't waste ur money on cremes and oils. But still moisterize ur skin tho and drink a lot of water. I'm 27 weeks along and I've used palmers and mama mia belly oil. But my mother never had stretch marks and I have 3 other sibiling
  • @laila_jaidasmom oh yes. I have been putting stuff on since I found out I was pregnant at 6 weeks. Now I'm 21 weeks and am like why the crap am I getting marks? Figured out what I did wrong was I put it on in the morning and that's it. Wrong! I was using cocoa butter lotion all over and got some on my breasts, 3 small ones on my tummy and a couple on my thighs. Bright purple marks... I started crying and thought I was ruined. I went to Freds and bought "Organic Hollywood beauty body butter with shea butter and vitamin e" I put it on in the morning and then before I go to sleep and you can hardly see them after just 3 days :) its only $4.00 after tax - heck yes!
The tears were for nothing and even though I'm not fond of stretch marks, I'd rather have them and a beautiful baby than none and no baby. But if I can have a baby and no marks, I'm all for it. Is there a Freds near you? It works wonders. How far along are you?
  • Its mostly based on your genetics. If you're going to get them they're isn't much you can do about it. However, keeping moisturized is important, plenty of water. Itchy skin will 'break' easier, so you want to encourage it to have some give. I found Bio-Oil (can be found at WalMart, Walgreens, etc) is about $12, just a fraction of the cost of Mederma, has healed my scars from surgeries, as well as lightened up my old stretch marks from 11yrs ago :) I get out of the shower, pat dry, lotion head to toe with Aveeno lotion, then put Bio-Oil on my belly, hips& breasts. Then after a few minutes to let it soak in I use Palmers Tummy Butter over the oil. Has worked with itching, lightened them up&made my skin even softer than before (which it was real soft to begin with, but no such thing as too soft, right?) Good luck!
  • I think it depends on the type of ur skin. I scar easly and so its harder to lighten anything up. Go to a Dermatolgist and ask them. if u don't want to waste ur money. Cuz its a gamble. One creme or lotion may work for someone else and it may suck for you.
