River, really?????

So before my hubby n I got together, he was with this other girl...well they broke up n he never heard from her again...until recently, but we were contacted by her mother who had custody of his baby that he didn't even know about.....she wanted him to sign over his rights n my hubby told her he has to think about it cuz it is a permanent process. Well in the mist of all of the chaos we learned that she named his son River.....am I the only one that thinks this is strange?

    I know a woman named River but she was born in the 60s lol that's the new thing naming your kids odd names! I have heard the name sachel (like a bag/purse!) Used as a name! All I can say is to each his or her own!

    No....she's not indian...I am not knocking it or anything I mean to each their own, I just thought that it was really strange...to me it would be like naming ur kid tree or leaf...just seems odd.

    Lol I know of a woman named sunshine lol. I like names that are simply unique, bit sunshine, river, I think a celebrity has a child named Apple lol, they are strange

    Crazy! He should get custody! My fiance got custody of his daughter from his ex's grandma... she was peed but its best. For the child to be with mother or father.

    Um I went 2 school with a girl named stormy. And my ex boy friend broke up with me 4 a girl named august... and her mothers name was september. True story

    Lol that child is going to have a hard life at school. I have friends they are brother and sisters; Skye, Raynne (rain), Storm and the youngest Tyshann..they wanted to name him typhoo. They think the spelling fixes things.

    I love the names river,meadow and autumn...lol,guess im weird.to me its like naming your child faith,hope or joy.

    I like it a bit actually. River. I wouldn't name my own that, but it's unique. Could show strength, I feel, or flows well in life.

    Then again, I'm part Indian. Native American, rather, since Indian is confused with person from India. Maybe it's just an Indian thing, eh, first commenter? With our nature names and all.

    Ransom is actually 10 or 11 now and I must say he's a pretty popular kid. He says he hates always having to explain his name though. Apparently it's a family name on his dad's side.
