A friend of mine ran around 40 miles a week til birth so I'm sure its not harmful.. but if you haven't been running id take it easy your amazing I tried to run and didn't get very far..
If you ran regularly before becoming pregnant, you should be fine. I've read to not run more than 2-3 miles unless you're used to training more than that & get clearance from your doctor to continue doing so. I ran my first marathon in mid-October & got preggo the first week of November. I've been so sick since week 5 that I haven't been able to run more than twice. ...its all I want to do, too!!!
It puts a lot of pressure on the small muscles holding up your uterus, and you dont want your heart rate to get to high. If you damage that muscle it can be permanent. If you can do brisk walking, or maybe use an elliptical machine? It would be safer. If you do run I would suggest a support belt. You can get them from your doctor.. Exercise is great, just be carefull. Drink lots of water!!
