It's confusing to me. I just got back from my apt with the pareanatoligist. What has your dr said about the development of your baby? Birth defects? @ehill11009
It mainly affects heart and kidneys. It can be caused by genetic defects too. I had the 1st trimester scan and no defects everything came back normal. Her kidneys are fine and I went in for a scan of her heart and its checking out normal. So as of now she's healthy and I feel her everyday. It's more common in girls. The doctor said she might be lower in weight but they don't seem concerned. My son was 9lbs so I wouldn't mind.
The dr told me that heart and kidneys look good. They checked her face, it looks good. Everything looks good and she's measuring in the 89th%. He wants another us at 30 cuz she could stop growing. That scares me. I feel her all the time. The dr was laughing about how much she moves! I'm 22w 3d @ehill11009
I wouldn't worry I'm getting US's every 6 weeks to keep an eye on her. I worried a bit after I found out but she's checking out fine. Enjoy your pregnancy! If anything she might come earlier than 40 weeks but most woman don't mind
I had a 2 vessel umbilical cord. My little girl was born march 1st and she's perfectly healthy. She only weighed 5 lbs 11 oz and I was induced at 39 weeks. So she was small for full term but thats the only problem I had. It causes a lot of un needed stress so I know what you're going through. The doctor will most likely put you on Nst's as you get closer to your due date and you'll get ultrasounds more often. But as long as everything is looking good now, I say you have nothing at all to worry about. Good luck on your pregnancy and congrats!!
Thank you for your post ladies. I had my 20 week ultrasound appointment yesturday and found out the same news. It scared me. My doctor didn't seem to concern and advised that everything, including her heart and lungs, were looking good. They explained the risk, factors, and complications. They will be doing more ultrasound appointments and monitoring.
@lenore619 I'm 25+4 and seem to still be doing great! At my monthly apt 1 week ago, all of my genetic tests came back negative! I will be going back to the high risk dr for another in depth us in 4 weeks. I'm staying positive with all the good results. Will keep you posted! Good luck and congrats
With my 1s pregnancy at my very 1st u/s they tld me I had a single artery umbilicol cord and the tech told me I cld, have a bby with down sydrom n all these horrible things it also didnt help that I knw no one with the same problem. Does any one knw if it will happen again im pg with my 2nd n wana knw if I will have the same sau
@siyahsmom I was the same way. I freaked out. the chances of it happening are like one in 3000 babies. my sister in law had this with her first baby, but not the next 3. So I wouldn't worry about it happening again. They have also told me that she could stop growing at 30 weeks. Its so scary, but I'm trying to be as positive as possible
Thank you @homebirthadvocate I've been stressing ever since I found out. It's so hard not to, but as I said above, with all my tests coming back good I'm gaining positive thoughts!
