Heartburn medicine makes me sick

I keep getting heartburn really bad. My last says I can take tums, rolaids, or mylanta. Problem is all of those leave a taste in my mouth I can't get rid of and I eventually end up throwing up. Do you know of anything else that can ease heartburn?

    have you tried the tums smoothie kind? they are the only ones that don't make me throw up!

    My ob put me on zantac. Just the regular over the counter type. It is wonderful.

    @Momamar & @isaiahnjocelynsmommy I've tried tums smoothies, thats what I took with my boys, didn't work. I've also tried rolaids soft chews, they tasted ok too, but lingered. And I can't drink plain milk. Yogurt seems to work, but I ended up eating 5 yogurts the other day and felt sick LOL! I'll have to talk to my doc about zantac or something!
