If you go to labor and delivery it wont be your doctor doing the things up there except the invasive things like breaking your water and delivering the baby. The nurses are the ones that will monitor you and let your doctor know their concerns if they believe you are in active labor, etc. So if you feel uncomfortable hun and like something isn't right, you should just go to labor and delivery for peace of mind at least. Like I said, the worse thing they can do is send you home again.
Good luck hun!!! I hope it helps! the one thing that helped me to dilate in labor was holding the squatting position for 3 minutes a time every 30 minutes
I was 4cm for almost one month. I was having contractions but didn't even know it. I would say just feel your tummy and time them. That is if your tummy is hardening. I would wait a few days at least
@HomeBirthAdvocate I haven't been able to eat today without throwing everything up.....and I can barely drink now, and not feeling the contractions right now kinda worry me since obviously they re strong enough to dilate me
I was dialated like that with my 3 boys and they kept sending me home because they said if my water didnt break and if my contractions werent showing up on monitor as being close enough together then not to worry about it. so until my water broke i didnt go back 2 the hospital with my 3rd boy they waited a wk after my duedate and induced me. im hoping i wont have 2 go through all that this time. hope all goes well. hopefully they do something for you.
@HomeBirthAdvocate I have only been nibbling and sipping...but it still comes up, I hve a pinched nerve in my stomach which makes it where I can barely feel the contractions I have, and have timed them by sight of my stomach muscles tightening....
Thank you....I haven't been able to eat or drink anything even sips and nibbles all day, I am going to try to rest in hope of getting sleep...but that's been a hard thing to do with the nerve and if I'm not better tomorrow I'm going to call my dr and see what he says cause I don't wanna keep getting dehydrated, cause I know it isn't good at all
@HomeBirthAdvocate I got some sleep and still not feeling good, just had a small cup of water to see if I can keep it down....if not my mom is going to take me to the hospital to make sure everything is ok
I knew a girl who went two weeks over her due date, dialated to 4 cms because she was dealing with a military hospital that wouldn't admit her until she had regular contractions or her water broke. She and her baby were both fine.
I'm glaad to hear that they were fine, I'm waiting it out as long as I can but not being able to hold liquids down isn't good for me or the baby....so far this morning I've been able to hold the little bit of water down but I don't know how much longer it will stay down
I was hoping it was just the 24 hr flu or something....I haven't tried eating today cause I'm trying to see how long I can hold liquids down....if I can't keep it down or to long I AM going to the hospital
I also have to agree with @tiff87124 you should go in, things like this can't be taken lightly. You should have went in yesterday when all this started hun.
