grinding teeth??

Ok I have a 2 yr old son nd for some reason he grind his teeth while asleep..he does it often but today is diff he is sick nd has a stuffy/runny nose nd he is grinding his teeth like crazy I can't sleep cause of the sound nd I'm terrified tht his teeth are gonna be meanest up Wht do I do?? Call a dentist?? Is it normal or Idk Wht does it mean lol thanks

Its pretty normal. I do it n a lot of other ppl. I say take him to the dentist. It can cause him to have aches n his teeth can even chip

Ok thanks cause he does it so hard its soo loud nd its scary lol he normally does it a couple times but it never keeps me up this time last night nd now is all I hear nd it scares me tht he will break a tooth nd choke if thts possible?? Idk its jst scary =\

Lol yea it used to bother my mom. I never even knew i wad doing it. Um i dnt think its possible for him to break a tooth n choke on it unless its really loose. If not i dnt think it will happen. N he would have to do it really hard n long for them to chip

I did when I was little too. My dentist gave me a mouth guard which didn't actually stop me from doing it, but it protected my teeth n stopped that annoying sound.

@ProudMommie627 thanks tht helps cause I think thts y I didn't sleep cause I was so worried nd it doesn't help tht I barley get any sleep nd I almost 36 wks lol
@twinkiesmom is.it hard.to breath with a mouth guard?? I'm jst worried.he won't be able be breath if he has a stuffy mouth nd is it well fitted dnt want him to choke either lol I'm so worries nd I'm only 22yrs old I can imagine how I'm goin to be when they start school.or drive lol

I'm 22 too! But as long as its fitted properly it shouldn't be a problem. I would ask a dentist about it. I never chipped a tooth or anything just got on my mom's nerves lol. And they gave me a purple one which I thought was the coolest thing ever back then
