Genetic counseling

So im off to genetic counseling. I am a carrier for a rare disorder my grandmother had. Im kinda nervous even though im sure my baby will not have the actual disorder (if for some reason my husband is a carrier too... Im choose to not have any more kids). Has anyone ever been to genetic counseling? I would just like to know what to expect.

    We went after my son died from a neural tube defect. They ask ???'s about family history on both sides. Fwiw my exhubby said he "wasted parking $ on that crap!"
    Meaning we heard same answers our docs said about anencephaly. Fluke ect..since noone on both sides had one.

    I hope you have a better experience!
