cramps and pressure doc says might b my cervix?

edited April 2011 in October 2011
I'm 12 weeks 5days and the day I turned 12 weeks I started getting my headaches back and when I stand too long or walk too fast I have cramping around my uterus where the ligaments would be and leg cramps. Even laying down unless I'm completely flat on my left side I still feel them. I also feel a lot of pressure but I figured that was normal. I had a check up two days ago and the doc told me she needs to do a pelvic exam but the fetal specialist I have an appt with this coming Tuesday needs to do it. Why didn't she do it? And why does she think its my cervix?
Is anyone else dealing with any of this and are close to my due date? (oct 23) I'm also very tiny. 4'11" still only 99 lbs I figured is have issues bc of my size but didn't imagine this...

  • I want to scare you but I had the same thing and founf out 2 days ago I miscarried but that could just be me this is my second miscarrage I can't last past 12 weeks.I was due oct 27th
  • I don't want to scare you sorry missed the dont
  • @ dueocr27th I miscarried three yrs ago I was only 10 weeks I think I didn't even get my first check up yet so I've been on bedrest but today I couldn't eat anything and when I had a snack I was nauseous for hours until I threw up five time till there was nothing left in my tummy for the baby to digest. My last miscarriage felt different though the cramps started bad and got worse and were in a different part of my body. More my uterus than the area around it. They aren't constant anymore now I'm just getting cramps in my stomach which is nowhere near the baby and my doc wants me to go in on Monday and see her bc of my headaches all day today and the throwing up
  • Are you drinking lots of water? I will pray for you
  • I have the nervous feeling in my stomach for the past 2 weeks I go in tue to get my d&c.I had 2 miscarrages in the past 6 months and have no clue why I can't carry past 12 weeks.I wish you the best of luck and let me know who everything checks out.
  • @proudmamma I have issues with drinking just water so I drink a lot of watered down juice and ginger ale and I'm trying to force fluids... thanks for your prayers. I'm optimistic I'm just scared of having to get a clervage. It freaks me out. And I think my fiance will die with out sex lol.

@dueoct27th I'm so sorry sweetie. I know how much that takes out of u when I miscarried the first time my relationship fell apart and I had a bad anxiety attack for two weeks I didn't eat or drink or anything I ended up admitting myself to the hospital they though I was trying to starve myself to death I was just lost.... my ex just left me and I had moved to anotherstate for him and I was just stuck. But it gets better. U need time to grieve and be positive that you'll get another chance. And take care of yourself! My coworker has had two miscarriages both around 13 weeks. So when I found out I was pregnant right after she lost hers I was scared to tell her but she was very sweet and has become my advocate bc her mom is my boss. You'll be okay sweetie :) stay strong. I'll comment on this discussion again when I get more news :)
  • Yeahi know I was really tired the second one I still haven't had a d&c.I have know Idea what I would do if I didn't have such a great man he is an amazing man.he's a one in a million.we plan on finding out what's wrong and then try again.ty for the courage.I think the second miscarriage is easier because I knew there was something wrong
  • Yeaa. I know what u mean. When you ready yourself the pain is a little less horrible. And I have an amazing guy now :) its good to have someone to lean on. Good luck on finding out what's wrong! is feel the same way if I were u
  • Hey I was wondering how everything went today.how far along are you
  • I asked my doctor the same thing. I didn't know what the pain was either, and with this being my first pregnancy I was freaking out. My doctor explained as the baby grows so does the uterus, which will cause some pain and discomfort, but the further along you get the pain lessens.
  • @dueoct27th everything went okay. the baby is alive and well hb of 153. and measuring a few days bigger than expected so no worries whatso ever and it was movin around like crazy at the ultrasound it would not lay still for some pics but we got some anyways :) im putting up a new one here in a sec

    how are you holding up?
  • I'm doing pretty good.I am just trying to find a place to get tested but its so hard when I'm not covered.
  • I had similar problems and I was spotting turns out I have a stressed/irritated uterus Which normally doesn't occur until later in pregnancy but Can happen at any time. I had to do things to reduce anything that put to much strain in my uterus like lifting standing walking to long and I was on bed rest For a month and no sex. Dr also said I had to reduce my stress and double my fluid intake. I drank propell water all day long. I am bow 14 weeks. I still spot at times and I Still get cramps but I just Try and take it easy til it lets up. Good luck keep us posted.
  • I Just realized this was posted a while ago....
  • Hey how's everything going.did you find out the sex of the baby is?
  • @dueoct27th everythings going okay. at the screening they said the babys very healthy and measuring a bit bigger than normal which is odd i really thought it would be smaller so im glad thats what i got bc it means the baby got daddys genes and is probably going to have no health issues thank god. were waiting till i give birth to find out the gender, so its going to be a surprise :) although, all the babies in my familys history have had a nack for spreading thier legs while doing u/s so we might not have a choice the baby might flip over and surprise us haha
  • Glad to hear everything is going great. Isn't the biggest relief when you think something might be wrong then you hear the heartbeat or see them non stop moving on the ultrasound? Its the best feeling to me :)
  • @excitedforoctober

ohhhh hell yea it is. i worried too much as it was and when they told me i had a very healthy baby growing inside me i felt so much more at ease. and everytime i hear the heartbeat i wanna cry it makes me so happy :)
  • Hey how is everything.how the baby doin.is it kicking yet.keep me update.me and my fiance decide to try again soon I'm so excited I got a high risk doctor so much more comfortable
  • I've been getting the same pains, I was driving before and felt this really (tmi) uncomfortable heavy sensation in my nunee kinda like I was going to do a number 2 outa there. But baby is absolutely fine and healthy, just likes to.cause mummy so grief already :)
  • @dueoct27th awww that's awesome sweety! I bet its much more comforting to have a doc that's able to help u no matter what happens. And can tell u why and what and when. I have been feeling the baby kick now :) sometimes on the outside too :) all my fellow cashier at work that are older with loss keep telling me im big for 17 weeks. I'm sure this babys gonna b half my size bc my hubby is almost 6 ft lol.

@moms_the_word I've had that same issue there past few days! I think its our pelvic bones makin room for the babies head but oh my goddddd it hurts! feels like you've been riding a horse or bike for too long! And yeah, my hubby always says that the babys already a troublemaker for causing me pain like that haha
  • My fiances 6 ft to.they said that they would put me on medicine if I feel uncomfortable idk if I should or shouldn't what would you do
  • what kind of medicine exactly? if its will in any way harm your potential baby or prevent you from concieving then dont! the only meds i can think of would be anti depressants or anti anxiety meds but thats only for post partum... i had bad post partum depression after my first miscarriage. i didnt even know i had it. thats why they ask u to wait a while before you try again. so that your hormones are back to normal and youre healthy enough mentally and physically to try again. so that nothing unpreventable can go wrong bc youve already done what u can to prevent any bad things from happening.
